Chamberlain Tinley Park, IL

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Hello everyone,

I am new to allnurses.com and so far I love it!! I have been reading the forums but I cannot find anything in particular about Chamberlain's Tinley Park location and I am assuming this is because it's still kind of new. I just wanted to how the instructors are and if this particular campus is worth attending?

Thanks I advance(^_^)

Mines is on Friday . I think 10-1150. How about you? I'm not sure if they graduated yet did they open in 2013?

Tuesdays 12-1:50

Did you get any scholarships. I'm wondering when they'll notify if we got the or not. Did you get books and uniforms? I can't believe school starts next week

I unfortunately, and stupidly, didn't apply for the scholarship but at orientation I think they said that they would inform you by the end of this week so today? Also, I don't have to purchase uniforms until next session for the fall and I have ebooks for my history and econ class which were already included in the tuition price.

Ok. I bought my uniforms b/c my advisor said all nursing classes require them. He sent me off. Lol I got the email about the scholarship. I started looking at preview week information. I kinda wish they offered my classes on campus so I could meet people.

Did you get the scholarship? Also, I think we don't need the uniforms until we start our clinical nursing courses so if you're going to start your clinicals in one of the upcoming sessions that may be why you need it now. But I'm ordering in July although my clinicals start in the fall because I was told it takes a few weeks for the uniforms to come in. I think in the beginning it's more common to have more online courses although I thought for sure that most classes also have an on campus option? But you'll definitely be on campus more during your actual nursing courses. I'm hoping to meet new people and make friends since we're going to be stuck together for a while lol

I just received my uniforms it took less than a week.

im unsure about the scholarship. The email was about them apologizing because they're behind but we should know if we got it or not by Wednesday.

but yeah it is more convenient to have online classes. Do you work in the medical field? A lot of the people I met so far do. I feel a little behind

Which session is your first clinical? I don't work in the medical field or any nursing experience, but I was planning on trying to get a pct or cna job after my first clinical rotations just to get my foot in the door.

I think in the fall. I just did a waiver to take certain classes at a certain time so I can graduate in 2 years.

I had my CNA licenses but let them expire. I was young and didn't realize I should've used them I'm gonna get it renew this summer. Or try to work as a patient escort/transfer.

what is the waiver exactly about? and cool, I wish i would've done my cna when I was younger but i still have time

I bombed the algebra test they sent me so i had to take a pre algebra class so thee waiver is to take College algebra with NR 222. So i can graduate earlier than their expected date.

By the way I'm not sure if I asked but what day is your clinical compliance orientation?
