Chamberlain Tinley Park, IL

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Hello everyone,

I am new to allnurses.com and so far I love it!! I have been reading the forums but I cannot find anything in particular about Chamberlain's Tinley Park location and I am assuming this is because it's still kind of new. I just wanted to how the instructors are and if this particular campus is worth attending?

Thanks I advance(^_^)

It's has been going up more than once a year. I think they are trying to make all the hours $665 per credit hour. At first we didn't have to pay for printing now we do. We didn't have to pay for e-books now it's mandatory, $80 per class. I just feel that everything is going up and I am not getting nothing out of it.

So do you feel that once you graduate you won't be prepared? Also do you think that the other campuses in IL are possibly as unorganized or just tinley park? This information makes me nervous because I am taking out loans in order to attend and this program is the closest to me and seems the most convenient especially because it is a bsn program but i don't want to be stuck and end up regretting my decision

Yes, I feel that I am unprepared, so do my classmates that I asked, they feel unprepared, and our clinical instructor feel that we are unprepared. I came from the Chicago campus I liked the campus but the commute was horrible. The classes that I did take all of the teachers were good because they had been there for years and they knew there stuff. I had just started at the Chicago campus and was there a couple of sessions. A majority of the people who transferred from other Chamberlain schools went back. Addison was the first Chamberlain I heard it is the more prepared, but not sure never been there.

Well I don't even know what to think =( I start my session in May, it was between this school and joliet community but my parents felt this would be better because it's a bsn program and with my nursing goals and a previous bachelors, I also thought that a bsn program made more sense. I was at Lewis' accelerated program last semester but because of some issues I didn't return. I was hoping that chamberlain would be a good fit and I was willing to overlook the tuition but hearing this makes me apprehensive. I can't really turn back now, I'm just going to go through with the first session or so and see how it goes. I joined the tinley facebook group and no one has really had anything too negative to say.

Are the clinical sites really far?

I wish I would've known all this before. They made it seem like rainbows and candy.

Exactly...it's already too late for me to go elsewhere and this is my second shot at a nursing program so honestly, I'm just going to stick to it

Are you all done with registration and orientation?

Are you all done with registration and orientation?

Yes I am registered for classes for the entire summer and I have orientation next Tuesday at 10. What about you?

My orientation is on Thursday. I have two online classes and 1 on campus which is NR101.

Has the first class from this campus graduated yet?
