Chamberlain Phx, AZ - BSN Program Input

Published

Hello AllNurses!

I have been trying to find personal experience recently on students and grads from Chamberlain in Phoenix, AZ or the Las Vegas, NV location. (Most of the other posts I found are from 2009 and the topics are closed.)

Any and all input and advise right now would be appreciated!

Did you feel prepared for the NCLEX?

Did you find a job after graduation?

What were the pros/cons of your over all student experience including teachers, clinicals, campus and equipment etc etc ?

Thank you SO much!

Hello KJet5,

am also supposed to be starting at chamberlain this year and will be taking the HESI end March. Were you able find any information regarding your questions? Did you take the HESI and if so do you have any advice and/recommendations?

I'm currently at the Phoenix location. The professors have been wonderful so far-- so much better than my professors I previously had while getting my first BS degree at a different university. Clinicals are at good hospitals. I have no idea how easy it is to find a job after graduation. Equipment is great. Have you seen the SIM lab?

Have you taken any college classes before? What was your GPA? The only reason I'm asking is because chamberlain admits almost everyone, but then the nursing classes get HARD... many struggle and subsequently fail multiple classes then get kicked out of the program. Chamberlain doesn't want to graduate incompetent nurses, so they make the program difficult. So be prepared!

Hello!

I start at Chamberlain here in Phoenix May 2nd.

I can tell you that there is a hospital here in downtown Phoenix who hires Chamberlain graduates for days. Chamberlain is very respected. I have never met a person from Chamberlain that could not get a job quick. I got accepted into GCU, but decided that Chamberlain was a better fit for me personally.

I have had an amazing experience with my advisors. They have been extremely accommodating (which I would expect since the tuition is outrageous)

I was considering Chamberlain in Houston. It was my LAST option because of the price, but had I not been able to land a spot at a state school, I would have probably gone that route.

Is it expensive? YES! Is it a route to a BSN? YES!

Only you can put a price tag on your education. I remember a few years ago, prior to having my pre-reqs and acceptance, and I really was willing to forgo a lot to get that ball rolling. I had a spouse to real me in and assure me I had a couple extra years to accomplish my goals... not everyone has that.
