I wanted to know if the Chamberlain college is actually worth going to. I hear good and bad things about it. Is there anyone attending/attended the program and can give me more information? Was it hard getting a job after? Was it worth it? Any information would be great. Thank you:)

Hi, I graduated from Chamberlain in August 2012. All in all the school is just like any other nursing school, you are prepared to take the NCLEX and a year long learning curve from being a nurse. That being said, I always tell people to think very hard about spending $60k-$80k on a BSN. Student loans when you graduate may be more than you thought they would be. Also the job market is not as "good" as recruiters make it sound. Nursing is INCREDIBLY over saturated, finding a job will be hard. There is no wait list, and it is fairly easy to get in (but TRUST me this does not mean the school is easy). So yes, it is a good school with good people just like most other schools. The benefit of Chamberlain over Brookline and Brown Makie is that it's been around a lot longer so they have a reputation (a good one from what I've heard).Long story short, if you're going to go to a private school, Chamberlain is a good choice BUT what you really need to think about is going to a private school at all- you will make 25.00/hr minus taxes when you graduate, can you afford a 500-1000 student loan payment? Are you willing to work anywhere? Skilled nursing, rehab, nursing homes included? Best if luck to you :)

Hello,
I am also considered chamberlain, but I live in NYC. Can anyone please tell how is it for people who are coming out of state?
Thank you
@futurenurse59 which semester are you interested in starting? It would be cool if we started the same time
This may! It would be, but I want to get more info. No one seems to know much or can help :/
I need more information also, and your definitely right. It seems like everyone just wants us to find everything out ourselves. If I find anything out I'll let you know and hopefully you'll do the same
@msfrank I sure will. Are you coming out of state also?

Hi guys! I'm also considering Chamberlain. I'm from Miami and the Miramar campus is the closest campus to me. My biggest concern is the cost and reputability of this program.
Yes I will be coming from California. I wanted to also tell you that I saw threads on Chamberlain college for other states. But they aren't really recent but hopefully they are somewhat helpful. Are you completing your pre requisites before the program?[/quote']Yes, I saw them two. Are they the ones that said California and New Jersey doesn't accept chamberlain degree? That's what I saw, but they are like more than 5yrs old post. I was like maybe not because if they are accredited with HLC and CCNE that should be good. I do have most of them done and that's why I want to go there. What campus are you planning on attending? Is it close to you?
