Chamberlain College of Nursing Pearland TX May 2017

Published

Hello everyone,

i just wanted to create a thread for those that are planning on attending the Pearland Campus. I was recently accepted and wanted to know who would be in my classes with me. I just met with the advising department yesterday and got my plan. It shows that it will take me exactly 2 years til I am complete with the program. Hopefully some of you chime in.

Hey guys!

So I was doing some research if there were any forums or Facebook groups dedicated to our summer program batch and there was none so I decided to make a Facebook group just because not everybody knows about allnurses and to make it easier for people to find just in case there are others like me who looked it up.

Here is the link if you would like to join! í ½í¸Š

Did you start the program? How are you liking it?

i have a question. How long is the process of getting in. It seems like ongoing phone calls and emails.

I applied to that location as well. I'm in Katy. How did you study for the hesi?

I take the Hesi next week, and i just studied the Hesi books and the a&p hesi notes online.

I am back now lol. I guess you can't pm me here till I post 15 times or something like that... anyway. I was talking to the advisor from the Houston Campus. She hung up on me and was a bit rude. I'm an LVN with 16 years under my belt. I asked her about testing out of some classes and getting other credits transferred... she was man. I sent in my unofficial transcript. They didn't want my A&P1 because I got a C and they didn't want me Woman's studies/Humanities nor any nursing class. She hung up. I applied to Indiana State's LVN to BSN online an they gave me 76 credits. I am a junior second semester with them but they don't have a summer start...

I have no idea why she hug up ... I was very nice. I guess they really are after money since its a for credit school. They only wanted to give me 16 credits...

Who did you speak with? I would have called back and asked to speak to another rep or maybe the dean. I'm pretty sure they won't really articulate any nursing classes over because they want to make money off of you by making you take theirs. Also I guess there is a minimum grad for any courses they would accept and that is a B. I had already completed pharmacology before but I got a C and they didn't give me credit for that class either. But it sounds like you may be getting a better deal with the other school so why not go with that one it would put you further ahead if they really are accepting that many credits. But if you're really interested in Chamberlain request a different admissions rep and go from there. I'm curious as to whom it was that hung up on you though. I have had Jennifer Pena and Deanna Morgan as my admissions rep. Both were nice but Jennifer is a little less likely to return a call and a little more offputting at times.

well Indiana state doesn't have a summer start that will potentially put me at stating a year from this sept... that sucks and they aren't accelerated either...but their website said I could test out of stuff.. and then she said no... its like I was just asking for tooo much from them.I just feel like as a nursing education consumer I have the right to really check them out but that lady wasn't having it at all... I was talking to someone at the Houston campus because I don't have any number to the Pearland location. I am just gonna print my humanities syllabus and my unofficial transcript along with the LVN can test out of stuff from their website.. and take it to them in person. Is there a local number I can call to that location?

832-664-7000 is the number given from google. But I have called and it redirected me to the national hotline several times in the past but they can put you in touch with someone once they have your information. But usually the desk clerk answers. But maybe she can set up an appointment for you to sit down with someone and go over your paperwork and questions. Let me know how it goes. .

It's actually just mostly logistics of the process. Once you have done the HESI you have a meeting to cover finances and how the program works. Then you have the background/fingerprint/drug checks and the rest is just waiting to get to orientation but it seems they are a little slow at processing everything and pretty understaffed when it comes to admissions reps because it's kinda hard to get in touch with anyone there. If you leave a message it takes 2-5 days to get a returned call. I'm guessing they are busy with an influx of applicants but they need to hire more staff so they can keep up with the demand and answer questions we all have.

Thank you, Murse0341, your videos are very helpful! I actually live in Pearland and have toured the school, but am looking at other options also. Hope all is going well for you and your classmates!

Hey I have a question, I'm looking into applying but my high school gpa is like a 2.68 would I still have a chance or no?
