Chamberlain College of Nursing Pearland TX May 2017

Published

Hello everyone,

i just wanted to create a thread for those that are planning on attending the Pearland Campus. I was recently accepted and wanted to know who would be in my classes with me. I just met with the advising department yesterday and got my plan. It shows that it will take me exactly 2 years til I am complete with the program. Hopefully some of you chime in.

How it works exactly for the class every 8 weeks? 2 class every 8 weeks?

Thank you.

It depends on your degree plan and what credits you're bringing in but yes it's about 2 classes every 8 weeks. But for me since I'm in my last few specialties I'm just taking one class for now.

Good Morning,

Sorry for asking many questions. I am glad to get to talk to someone that is actually in the school. :) You are so kind. :D

How is the two classes? I think 2 classes every 8 weeks is not bad at all. What do you feel about them; especially, the online one?

What about the clinical location (before COVID-19), do you get to do at any different locations?

Thank you so much.

It's pretty rigorous. It's basically a whole semester put into 8 weeks.

Your clinical location can be anywhere in Houston and the surrounding areas. I've been to the med center, kingwood, and north Houston.

Are you able to take more than two courses per 8 week session? Or is it your decision to just take the two? Also, when are you graduating? Do you feel like the program has prepared you the best it can for nursing? I'm considering Chamberlain for the September session at the Pearland campus.

After doing some extensive investigation and research, I decided to apply. Have either heard back regarding your acceptance?

I haven’t applied yet. What session did you apply for? Have you been admitted yet?

I applied for the September session because the May session was already full. I’m still waiting to hear back; hopefully they’ll make a decision this Friday.

Dang, I don’t know if I’ll make it for the September session. I still have some classes I’m taking this Summer to transfer in. I think I can transfer them as long as they are “in progress” and finished before the start of the program. I know you can’t transfer anything else once you start the program.
If that’s the case, maybe I should just go ahead and apply so everything can be prepared.

Yes, I am hoping to do the same. I believe that information is correct; as long as you transfer them in before the semester starts, they’ll still accept them.

Sorry for the late response, but some classes you are able to take 2 courses per 8 wk session. It depends what you transfer in and your degree plan. I'll graduate March 2021. I feel like I can't say it prepared me until I take the the NCLEX LOL but so far in clinical the nurses seem impressed by what we know.

How many transfer credits did you come in with? What other non-nursing courses did you have to take as a part of your degree plan?
