Chamberlain college of nursing/ getting into grad school?

Published

Hi i am thinking about going to Chamberlain college or nursing in Addison Illinois and was wondering if big Universities like UIC, Northwestern, or Rush look down on a degree from Chamberlain. I know Devry in general doesnt have the greatest rep but with a degree from Chamberlain, will i be able to get into a good CRNA or MSN program from a major university or should i just avoid Chamberlain while i still have a chance? I do not want to stop at a BSN, so if i cant get into a good grad school program, i want no part of Chamberlain. Any help would be appreciated!

You can get into a CRNA program with a BSN from Chamberlain. I just can't afford their pricey tuition. If you can afford it, then go for it.

Do universities look down on a degree from Chamberlain like they do Devry for technical degrees?

No. Chamberlain is fully accredited and is accepted by such universities such as Vanderbilt, University of New York, UCLA, etc....not to worry. I checked it out thoroughly and then decided not to go because of the current economy. Hope to one day though. It may be pricey but I'd rather be done in 3 semester than in 6 semester. If you compare it to 6 semesters in another college, it's not no pricey after all and saves time as well.

so is the bad reputation only for the technical and business schools of devry? sorry for all the questions.. i just want to make sure i am making THE best decision ;)

The degree comes only from Chamberlain College of Nursing even though some of the course are taken through DeVry.

Thank you for asking that question. I was wondering the same thing. I am starting classes at Chamberlain on Monday and at this point I have no idea if I am going to continue on after reaching a BSN but just in case....

I guess I didn't know for sure if I would ever want to work towards a BSN either but here I am.
