Hello!! I just joined this site today because I was recently accepted into Chamberlain College of Nursing, I am scheduled to begin classes on March 1st and I was wondering if anyone else is going to Chamberlain and also if anyone has heard anything (good or bad) about this school. I am very excited to start and I think that the most appealing thing about this school is that there isn't a wait list... I applied in August, was accepted in October and I am beginning in March. It is quite expensive but I think (or at least hope) that it is worth it. Also instead of doing the ADN, I have decided to do the BSN, any comments?? Advice?
Hi I to am planning to start in March, but am now nervous reading some negative remarks about finance. I plan to get everything in writing . I am very excited as I started a BSN program back in 1989 but left it for a Diploma school so I could start nursing and travel, which I did for 10 awesome years. Now back to school to further my education for my new position as clinical coordinator over 3 units who would have guessed. I would love to keep in touch with someone who will be in class the same time as me let me know what you think T
I am finishing up my first semester at the Phoenix Campus. My feelings are mixed right now. The people who schedule the classes are a little on the frustrating side. You have to keep asking them and reminding them to do things, but they always will accommodate you as best they can. When I applied I had no idea it was a part of DeVry and that I would be taking DeVry classes. I have a B.S in Health Science already. I was told that I wouldn't have to take ANY sciences and that I would be starting in NR 222 the first semester. Well, when I got my schedule for the semester, they had me in A&P. I had to ask why, it was because it was too old, over 5 years ( and I am really happy I have taken A&P before because our teacher isn't the greatest teacher) But all my other sciences are within 10 years, so that transferred. I also had to take math and english again because they didn't accept the syllabi. They are letting me start NR 222 next semester though, so I am happy about that. From what I've heard, people who are in the actually nursing classes really love the school. I just want to get the few pre-reqs I have to take over with because I am not so much a fan of the DeVry classes. I'm really looking forward to moving on with the nursing classes though. :)
Ok I am reading all about the fast track program Chamberlain has. A bit expensive but I can deal with that if necessary. My question is someone posted they do not take credits older than 10 years. Is this indeed the case? If so will have to look somewhere else. : (
That is the case. You'll find that a lot of community colleges and universities will tell you the same thing. They just want to make sure you remember the information you learned in order to build upon it. Definitely isn't the best case scenerio for use "older" students but understandable. Just think about you'll either have a bachelors in three or less years or a community college with two years and an associates.

Just look as having to take these classes as a refresher. Most of the DeVry classes are a joke but at least it gives you more time to focus on your actual nursing classes. Most of the one's that I've taken so far I've gotten a 96 or better so it just builds my GPA!! :)
I started Chamberlain in March and so far it's going well. It's pretty intense and no one should ever go into it thinking it's going to be easy because it's online. They accepted my english composition and humanities from 1990. It is expensive but the fastest way that I was able to find. Good luck!

I will be starting the BSN program in Jacksonville on March 1st. I am starting in Semester 3, as I had been fulfilling prerequisites at SJRCC. I am excited and optimistic... so far the experience with the admissions staff has been quite positive and far exceeds SJRCC.
