Anyone know anything about this place?

Maddiem,

Did you take the A2 test?

From what one of the advisors told me they review applications by gpa(4.0-3.50) and A2 score.

OMG! I forgot to say " Congrats!!!! ajconne" ...

I think my A2 score was an 82, I had GPAs from 3 different schools: School 1 i had the least amount of credit and a GPA of 2.19, School 2 I had the most credits from and a GPA of 2.92, School 3 Is where I just finished and a GPA of 3.04. I am also an LPN.

Good luck to all of you, I'm sure you'll get accepted! :specs:

ajconne, I'm still waiting for the results... :(

I only got 80 on my A2 and my gpa from a CC is 3.65.

(crossing my fingers)

ViktoriaSecret - Your score and GPA are high i'm sure you'll get in. When did you apply?

ajconne, I gave Nick Ryan my official transcript on May 7.

I really hoping to start this summer.

I would email him and see if he has submitted your application yet or try to call him. I didn't feel like Nick was a very good adviser, he was very slow to respond or get information to me.

I have a 3.35 GPA and I'm going to take one more semester of classes to bring up my GPA more (mostly gen eds and micro, can get A's). I have an A in both sections of A&P, B in both my english classes, A in both of my psychology classes...So a pretty good balance of A's and B's (maybe more B's from before I decided to go pre-nursing). I have a total of 44 college credits. I know I have to send Chamberlain my high school transcripts for proof of graduation and what not...but will they use my grades from high school as part of the application evaluation process? I have a lot of college credit...so I'm hoping they won't take my grades from high school so seriously because I was not a very good student in high school because I spent most of my life working to help support my family. I did get above a 21 on the ACT my junior year in high school (which was one of the requirements on the admissions page). Does anyone know if they don't look at grades from high school after a certain amount of college credits?

I also have a couple of W's on my transcript...But 2 of them were for non college credit courses (math...not my best subject). The other one was from A&P 1. My first try with A&P was a summer course and I had no idea how accelerated it would be. I knew I wasn't going to keep up with the pace because I need more to time to process information, so I dropped it (but I got an A in both of my A&P sections after that). Do you think this will affect my application??

I plan on working really hard in the fall to get all A's to bring my GPA above a 3.5...I'm also getting my CNA license this summer. Do any of you have your CNA license? Did it help you get into Chamberlain? I plan on working as a CAN as well this fall. And I'm hoping having some experience in the field will help give my application a boost.

I'm not too concerned about the A2 admission test...it seems from the other posts that it is really straight forward. I'm just nervous about the rest of my application!!!

Any answers to my questions or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

No they do not look at high school grades. They just look at them to see if you graduated from high school. As for the withdraws I honestly don't know. I do know they look at many different things such as grades, how many classes you withdrawed from, etc but I do not know just how much they take it into consideration. Being a CNA won't help you get into the program. They do not ask if you are a CNA or not. Most of the people I know aren't CNAs.

Hi Maddie,

If I remember it right as long as you have 24 credit plus Chamberlain wont look at your HS gpa. They just need want to make sure you graduated HS. I had to have my HS transcript evaluated since it's from another country.

Not Sure about the W's in your transcripts. but you're on the right track as far as wanting to get A's to bump up your gpa.

Any gen ed course you can take could also save you tons of $$$.

I took CNA class from a community college that way gpa gets counted as well. But I don't think you have to be certified to get in Chamberlain.

For A2 test English and Math weighs more than the other ones - no physics in the test by the way.

Im really bad with math so I practiced a lot on solving problems- lots of ratios and fractions.

As long as you have a good A2 & gpa you have nothing to worry.

ajconne,

He finally replied and said he submitted my application but it would take 2-6 weeks. :( apprarentl there's a lot of application to be reviewed.

ViktoriaSecret - wow, Nick told me that when he turned my application in. I hope it doesnt take that long for you. School starts in 6 weeks.

Let us know when you find out you got in!
