Cgfns Time Certificate

Published

Hello My Name is Araceli

I'm nurse in my country , I live in Cd,Juárez Chihuahua, México border to El Paso Texas.

I sent my aplication to New York CGFNS since November 2002, also i sent them my papers transcripts , i think I'm ready to present a test but... how much time do they take to review the transcripts??? or to send me a answer...??

I reviewed every day the CGFNS page...and I have been studied a lot...Only I need a chance....

Contact them directly.

I bet theres noone from that section who visits this site to answer you.

By the hello hello from the pacific ocean.

Lilu1972:

1. First of all, how did you send your application to CGFNS? Mexican mail or courier service? I use to live in Phoenix and spent alot of time in Mexico near your city, and speak Spanish.

2. Have you checkied the website to see that they received all of your forms and that they were properly submitted? Almost everyone that I have met, that has a problem, filled something out wrong, or did not have their transcripts and validation of nursing license in sealed envelopes from the proper agency. If not, they are not accepted and you must resubmit them.

3. Hope this helps some, please contact me if I can be of any more help. While you are waiting to hear about your date for your exam, have you applied for the Visa Screen? If not, I would do this as quickly as possible as this can take months and will be a requirement of all nurses after Jouly 2004. Have you completed and passed your English exams: TOEFL, TWE, and TSE or the IELTS series. I would recommend to anyone that they complete this first to save a few months of time.

Good luck............................

What is actually the visa screen for? If it is necessarily needed after passing NCLEX? May I anyway skip it as CGFNS is so slow and unreliable?

Visa Screen certification is required for any nurse applying for a green card or a temporary work permit in the US. Whether you complete CGFNS or NCLEX for the exam part, that is up to you. You must complete the series of English exams also unless you trained in an exempt country. In my opinion, I would also recommend completing the CGFNS exam, even if you decided right now just to work in California or New York. If you woulddecide to move after just one year you will be required to take CGFNS for most other states unless you have two years work experience in the US. NCLEX, currently, can only be taken in the US or one of its possessions. This requires a tourist visa at least unless you go to Saipan. Not all foreign nurses can qualify right now for a tourist visa due to the restrictions now in place.

If you go to the US to take NCLEX, you still must wait minimum of 6 months to get the Visa Screen process completed, and probably even longer if you never took CGFNS exam. It is your choice......

Thank you so much for all of your replies, suzanne4. I try to deny any further application from CGFNS but it seems impossible. I feel so sad on it. I almost can't get any accurate communication on my progress after any application. I can only get outdated information from the cgfns account or get lies from the customer service representatives (who gave me wrong instruction for wrong applications to waste my money and lies, lies and lies for the receive of my documents as well as other problems to waste my time). I feel so frustrated and upset to them.

Oreo, Just looking back at some of your posts. Did you ever get everything completed? I cannot stress enough to all of you out there, please consider using a courier service for delivering documents to CGFNS. That way you have proof as to when the envelope was delivered and even the person who signed for it, if necessary. This way you have an absolute guarantee that it was delivered. No mail service from any country can give you this guarantee.

You have a choice of many different services, examples are: Airborne Express, DHL, UPS, FEDEX. Not saying one is beter than the other, but it will save you alot of grief in the end. With all of my students, this is the only way that they send their documents, and definitely worth the extra money.

Good luck........................if I can help in any way please let me know

Thank you for your support and information during these period. Actually, I am waiting for the lawyer to do the employment base green card application now and feel restless on it. Anyway, some problem in between and difficult to explain. ... tired for further waiting...in these days....

Regarding to the CGFNS stuffs, I have no brave to start the application yet, even though you've already adviced me to apply earlier. Sending them doc thr' DHL is also useless when they lie. They've denied my DHL sent transcipt for more than half months, although it's already arrived according to the record of DHL. I lost all of my confidence on them. Anyway, I'm still preparing for the TSE which is needed for the visa screen. I hope I still have time for the CGFNS visa screen as I think it's only needed 1year later (I've not yet started my working permit application by my lawyer). I feel so frustrated on them...

Once again, thank you for your support!

I would definitely go ahead and start the Visa Screen process because you can't do a thing without it. No paperwork can be submitted to the Embassy without it and you will just be holding yourself up longer. Perhaps adding on up to another year. So if working in the US is your goal, go ahead and submit for the Visa Screen now. You will be happy that you did. :balloons:

Thank you for your advice. I will apply it in the coming couple days. Your support is important for me. Thanks again!

Have you scheduled a date yet for the TSE? Have you completed TOEFL and TWE? There is a backlog of people waiting to take the TSE, you usually have a waiting period of three months, if not even longer. So don't delay scheduling that. You can also do the IELTS series if it is offered where you live to save you time. They can not do anything about any type of work permit for you until you have the Visa Screen certificate in hand. Again, the only type of work permit that is available right now is with a green card. There is no other way. They actually need to have that submitted to the Embassy with your other paperwork before anything can be processed.

Keep us posted.

I've done Toefl, and I think TWE is included in it as a essay writing part. However, I have to wait for the TSE until April for the examination. Feel worried about it. Some people said that's even more difficult than NCLEX. I have no time to fail, but feel worried. Anyway, can only wait and wait, although already tired to wait.
