CGFNS requirements

Published

Hi,

It's me again, just been through the CGFNS requirements and it says we have to have both clinical and theoretical experience in certain categories like mother and child and psychiatrics and things like that. We did have theory on these, but we had to search out and document our own learning experiences known as EU directives. Any ideas on what we can do for this? Will it be enough?

If you covered these it will show on your transcripts which you have to arrange to be sent to CGFNS, you cannot obtain it and send your school of training must send it and they usually charge a fee.

Hope this helps

Your clinicals have to be thru an approved school of nursing.

You are going to have a problem with it showing up on any type of transcript and that is what they require. Best thing to do is to submit your documents, and see what answer you get from them. They go over each applicant on a case by case basis. But from experience I can tell you that since the UK changed over to the new specialist system, the nurses have had to make up the hours. Documentation that you had a tutuor and worked so many hours in a facility is not accepted.

thank you suzanne, so close yet so far i think :uhoh3:

As I told you before, submit your credntials to CGFNS and see if they will be accepted. Or you can attend, as a guest student, in the US and complete the necessary hours. The choice is yours...............
