CGFNS for NY state and NCLEX

I graduted last October 2011 with a degree in Nursing here in Canada. Last May 2012, I applied for CGFNS Credential Verification Service for New York State. I am planning to take the NCLEX exam in New York and I still do not have a nursing license here in Canada. I already submitted all required documents and as of now, my status stated "Ready for Submission". Also, I am planning to take the CRNE on June 2013 which is my final attempt.

My questions are, do I still need to apply for the New York State Department in order for me to take the NCLEX examination? Also, do I need to submit the Nursing Licensing Application Form besides the form that I sent to CGFNS? In addition, am I required to take the Child Abuse and Infection Control courses before I get approve in taking the NCLEX exam?

What Authorization to test? Test what? once CGFNS have all your documents for CVS they forward everything to NY, you submit application to NY, they review application and if met requirements they authorize pearsonvue to release ATT once you have paid pearsonvue their fee.

NY doesn't take part in certification program, that is totally different to CVS

There are no set dates to take the exam, it depends on the dates that are free at the test center

You do not get a certificate from pearsonvue, they just issue the test. If you pass then the state will issue a license as long as all requirements are met. So if a US SSN is required then a license will not be issued until a US SSN is submitted. If you fail then the state provides a print out on the various areas of the test and how you did in them areas. Time will vary from 24 hours to a few weeks depending on the state
