I was scheduled to sit CGFNS in July 2004 in Europe. I confirmed this through the website as well as phoned CGFNS customer services in March just to double check to CONFIRM, as it has been a good 18 month struggle to get this far with all the CGFNS classics... lost documents bla bla bla.
I am currently working with an International Organisation involved in Health care and development. (logistically, the a#&@ end of nowhere, sat phone communications only)
Imagine my dismay returning to Europe and accessible communications two weeks prior to this exam, only to find out that I am scheduled to sit the exam in November 04. instead of July. This has been changed by the CGFNS after March 04.
I am speechless. Again.
Has this happened to anybody else?????

I am definitely not sure what they are doing at their offices any more.
I have a student that applied in March for the July exam, decided the middle of April that she did not want to sit for the exam, until November. We sent a fax, no response, scanned the fax into my computer and sent that two times via e-mail, never any response. And she is still rostered................ :angryfire
I told her either take it now, or don't bother with it. They want to charge her a penalty to take it in November. Yuo don't need the exam any more for most states, so I am telling my students not to bother with it.
Just too much grief. NCLEX will be available in London, Seoul, and Hong Kong beginning in January. :)
Dear Suzanne,
Have I completely lost the plot again :uhoh21: .... I suppose? What do you mean most states do not require CGFNS? NCLEX available in London?
I am sure the story unfolds somewhere on this site¨... I will need to catch up!
And good luck to those who sat the exam today! :balloons:

The official announcement was made 1 June 2004 that NCLEX will be offered beginning in January, 2005 in London, Seoul, as well as Hong Kong.
Many states are no longer requiring the CGFNS exam, only a credentials verification by them. It all depends on where you wish to work. Illinois still requires the exam, and you cannot even endorse to them unless you have two years of experience in the uS if you don't take the exam. For most others, you can just endorse in.
I recommend that all of my students get initially licensed in New York. They actually issue you as license without a SSN#. California does not so you can't endorse from there easily.
Hope that this helps clear up things for you.
