I am just about ready to go off my dinger so bear with me!
My University sent my transcripts to the CGFNS for evaluation on 7th September but with no tracking information CGFNS can’t tell me whether they have received them or not. We’ve just assumed they have been lost. My University sent them again - untracked - after asking for them to be sent tracked; I’ve even offered numerous times to pay for it! My question from here is I think I know what the answer is going to be but just want to check; do the CGFNS accept email copies of transcripts? I thought I may get a quicker response here as opposed to asking the CGFNS myself - it’s impossible to get through on the phone and can take about 3/4 weeks for email response.
On another note, can anyone recommend any alternate evaluation services? I get the CGFNS is busy but this is just unfortunately delaying everything for me, wondering if another agency may be quicker/more responsive.
Thank you in advance

HI there, American RN here (trained in South Africa). CGFNS is an absolute nightmare to deal with. Sadly, they do not accept e-mailed copies of anything except your High school diploma! The nursing school has to send the transcripts to CGFNS directly, as does your licensing body (Nursing council) . I've been in the US 22 years working in California and am having to deal with the CGFNS again now when I wanted to obtain an Oregon license. It's like doing it all over again. Are you coming to the US with travel company like O' Grady-Peyton Int ? I came over with them 22 years ago and have to say that they were on it constantly. It makes things so much easier when you have an agency like them sorting out all the details and dealing with CGFNS. Definitely contact them if you want to get to the US faster.

Hi thanks for your response.
I looked into the agency Thornbury Nursing US as I actually work for the sister company in the UK alongside my NHS full time post. They told me to come back to them once I’ve had my degree evaluated - it seems UK trained nurses are deficient in some areas due to our training so don’t know if that’s anything to do with it.
I haven’t looked into OGrady Peyton though so will have a nosey - my location isn’t flexible unfortunately so a couple of agencies can’t help me.
Pay all that money to the CGFNS and I can’t even get through on the phone or a helpful email. Glad it’s not just me that’s having problems!
Thanks again

Hello, I’m a UK Trained RN as well. Have you been able to get to CGFNS and how were you able to meet all the required hours?

Hi, there are a lot of other evaluation services. Here are a few other options.
One other thing with CGFNS , they will take forever but they do eventually get things done. As long as you have submitted everything they need.
