Hello
I'm new to the forum and i kept on reading articles, inquiries, complaints and many more I find this site very helpful and unique because it can give voice to all nurses around the world. Anyway my question really sounds weird but I just want to ask about my status. Actually I'm a ADN here in the Philippines under PPTS(American owned nursing school patterned in Louisiana Curriculumn). Problem is that our country does'nt recognize ADN by law so to make the story short i can't get a local licensure in the Philippines. Now my main problem pop up when I file for NCLEX-RN under BON New Mexico and one of the requirments are cgfns-ces. Upon answering the application forms i came up to Step 5 then boooom I can't answer it because it needs local licensure and if i don't have one i need to explain the reason behind... So whats the proper way to inform cgfns regarding our status?
PS: To all PPTS students their can you guys contact me regarding this issue?

Moved to the International forum.
You may find you have problems, if your training does not match your own country's requirements it will not meet US requirements. Just something for you to be aware of. Usually looking at BSN
Well in other branch of PPTS they already got ATT in other State board of nursing... the school is credible but the problem is that our country doesnt recognize the assosiate degree:(
Many can get ATT the issue is immigration and their requirements totally different to BON

Your school actually does not meet the requirements for you to be able to get a visa for the US since it is not considered first level training in your country.
The ADN is not accepted from your country for the green card, or any type of visa as it is mandated that you must meet the requirements for licensure in your country and you do not.
Licensure and immigration are also two very different things and if you do not have a green card or US passport, the school can tell you what ever they want but you will not be able to work here as you will also need a Visa Screen Certificate that is only available thru ICHP/CGFNS and they do not issue visas without that.
Please be very aware that we have not seen one graduate of these two year programs actually get a visa for the US as of yet. And with the retrogression that is in place, and the expected wait of five years for a visa if one were available for you, what are you going to do for experience over the next five years since you cannot work there and the two year degree from there is not accepted in any other country for immigration purposes? You are in a real pickle and would love to hear what your wonderful school is saying about this when you ask them.
I will be waiting to hear. Expect the BS meter to take a big hit, there is nothing that can be done by this school to get you a visa. And this is what they never seem to tell the students.
