Electronic Stethescope. Yay? or Nay?

Well i've always wanted one, lol. I borrowed a professors electronic stethescope years ago and those things are quite nifty. I have a good Litmanns stethescope now, Cardio III, but I was wondering if the CRNA's out there think that there is value to an electronic stethescope. In the ICU its noisy and sometimes the awake patients won't stop talking, lol so I admit that beyond (clear/coorifice/rhonchi/diminished/absent :uhoh3:) i don't hear much. Do you think that these stethescopes are worth the money in your profession?

If so,.. what are the best ones out there. And do they come with warrantee/insurance.

A friend of mine has one and loves it. She can hear things I can't with a regular one. She has hearing problems and can't use a regular steth. But, she did get it swiped by family members when she layed it down to do a procedure in the ER and forgot about it for about 20 minutes. So if you do decide to get one, keep it close! It's way too expensive to replace every month.

I love mine. I have the 3100. I have a Cardio III too. Love it, but I was amazed at what I could hear when I tried another nurse's 3100 before I decided to buy it. Love it, and no regrets. Worth the $$.

I'm an APN who works in dialysis clinics. I use the Littmann 3100 and love it. I use it because when you are listening to lungs/heart on a dialysis pt hooked up and running thru a permcath - its the only way I can hear anything!
