Members are discussing issues with accessing Canvas for orientation modules, with some experiencing SSO Request Errors and delays in receiving emails. There is confusion about the required tasks before orientation, such as sending official transcripts, and questions about the locations of clinicals. Despite some technical difficulties, members are eagerly preparing for the upcoming orientation.
Hi, is anyone applying to the RN program at Cerritos College in California for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. If so how many points do you have?
I can't tell if I got in or if I'm an alternate. This is what my letter says:
"Dear Nursing Applicant,
Congratulations! You have been Selected for Admission to the Spring 2026 Semester of the Cerritos College Nursing Program! You will begin First Semester Nursing Courses on Monday, January 12th, 2026!
This is an incredible opportunity for you and your future! We thank you for your patience as we carefully reviewed each application and made selections. We had a vast number of highly qualified applicants and will only be able to enroll ~ 18% of our applicants. So, congratulations, once again, for gaining a position in our program!
WHAT'S NEXT??
FIRST: YOU MUST ACCEPT YOUR POSITION AS AN ALTERNATE by MAY 2nd, 2025.
You will print, sign and date the attached Signature Page stating that you have read this letter in its entirety and are willing to take your admission and attend orientation. Scan it or take a clear picture of it and email it to [email protected] by MAY 2nd, 2025 @ 4:00PM. If we do not receive your response, we will assume that you are denying your admission, and we will remove your name and replace with an Alternate Student.
SECOND: MANDATORY ORIENTATION is required of all Admitted students or your position will be foregone. Orientation will comprise of:
• Online modules that you will need to fulfill on CANVAS on the Cerritos College webpage.
Instructions to be provided June 2nd, 2025, via email.
• LIVE Orientation on both Monday, June 23rd, and Tuesday, June 24th on campus in the Student Center, from 0830am – 1630pm. Orientation will review all requirements, policies, procedures, and schedules for the Nursing Program. We will review enrollment, fees, clinical and health requirements, and important deadlines. The meeting will not be repeated; therefore, you are REQUIRED to be in attendance. If you are not in attendance, you will be removed from the accepted students and you will not be eligible for admission"
