Central Carolina Technical College

Hey everyone! I am just curious if there is anyone else that has applied to the ADN program at Central Carolina Tech this time around? I believe the deadline was March 16. I was wondering if anyone knew when we are supposed to get our letters as to whether we got in sent out? Best of luck to everyone who has submitted their package!

Lol, I'm just ready to get this started.

Same here but I'm also trying to enjoy my freedom while I still have it.

I agree with you there

milk men. lol.

Ldla1234 I've been looking at the schedule and it looks like some sections of 101 have 3 instructors. How exactly does that work?

I dont know exactly for CCTC but at Midlands, we had 3-5 instructors for each clinical course. The instructors collaborated and took turns giving the lecture, and then each student was assigned to a specific instructor for clinicals (hospital experience). Some courses also had adjunct professors for clinicals because you can only have 8 students per clinical rotation in a class. I hope this makes sense. lol. For example, in med surg II, there were 80 people in the class. 5 instructors taught the lecture taking turns on topics. Then there were 10 groups of 8 for clinical. Some students got an instructor for clinical, and others got adjuncts. Clinical is pass/fail.

also, there were two classes of 80. The first half of the semester one class had clinicals and lecture while the other class just had lecture, and then the second half of the semester, class 1 had lecture only and the other class had both.

Ok I just wasn't too clear on how that works. I just hope they're all on one accord. Thank you, I'm ready for this orientation.

Hey it's me again, I see that our pharmacology class isn't going to start until October(mini-nester) which is good because we can focus solely on fundamentals for the first 2 months. 😄

Do you ladies think we have to get our own stethoscope and bp cuff?

We do have to have those but I don't know if its included in the 'nurse pack'. I would suggest getting a littmann's stethoscope though. The cheap stethoscopes are hard to hear with. I am ready for orientation too! I'm so excited. I sent my form back the day after I got it to reserve my space.
