CEN test coming up

I plan to take the CEN next month & am studying the CEN review book about every day now. Any pointers from previous CEN test takers? I would appreciate any help or web sites I could practice on.

If you have been practicing ED nursing and have been studying a good CEN review book then you should do fine. The test is really not that hard. Just plan your day well. Good nights sleep, good breakfast, allow for plenty of driving time (especially if traveling to another city), have all your papers and ID that you need. Do not take anyhting extra because there may not be a good place to store/securte at the test site.

Take your time, you will have plenty of time to complete your excam. If you need to skip a question do it, the computer will let you come back to it.

Let us know how you did, you should find out that day.

I did the CEN a few years ago and agree that it is comprehensive test but not hard if you work in a busy ER. The work experience made a huge difference for me.

Thanks for the input. I have test phobia but am trying to review everyday.

Since I don't work in a trauma center, I don't see a lot of things but the

basics are there since I have a med/surg background.

2. Which mineral/vitamin prevents osteoporosis?

3. AN AIDS pt is taking Retrovir. What s/s should he look out for?

4. Rule of 9's. A pt with burns to RLE has what %?

5. A nurse gave the wrong med to the wrong pt. even though the pt. responded by

name when called. What should be done?

5. completely fill out an incident report (aw sh**)
