"Cell phone" vibration in your thigh?

Okay - maybe someone has heard of this and knows a dx. I have researched and researched and can not find ONE single professional answer to it. Only thing I can find is thread after thread after thread with HUNDREDS of PATIENTS who have this complaint, yet NO ONE has dx it as being anything yet.

Vibration in your thigh - crease of thigh in women, or groin area usually in men - and it feels exactly like you have your cell phone on vibrate in your pocket and its going off. IN fact - causes many to constantly check their cell only to realize that isn't what it is - can feel it lying down at night, sitting up during the day - just a constant low vibration.

My immediate thought is that its like blood rushing through a vein - but no s/s at all of any kind of DVT - no pain, no difficulty with mvmt, or breathing, no rapid hr - no other signs and symptoms of anything else - just this annoying vibration that feels like a tiny cell phone set on vibrate.

I have this too! Have had it intermittently for several years. Mine is in the right quad - toward the outside 1/3 down from hip toward knee. Happens most often when I'm sitting working. It is a vibration, and if I put my hand over my leg, it seems sometimes I can feel some transferred vibration, though hard to be sure. I always assumed it was due to tight muscles - I run a lot. However, stretching, massage etc hasn't helped. A few years back I would carry my cell in my hip pocket - don't anymore - but can relate to "thinking" its your cell, even though it is obviously not related. Has to be twitchy muscle, pinched nerve or some nerve-related issue - maybe phantom ...

I've had this for over 20 years, only occasionally when I was younger, but more recently it has been more frequent; sometimes daily. Feels exactly like my phone vibrating and I ignore it sometimes as a result. I don't agree with other comments about phantom sensations resulting from cell phone use, as this has been with me long before I owned a cell phone. The rushing / vibration sensation is singular in it's presence, no other side effects or symptoms as a result. Just an annoying feeling that continues to be a nuisance. lol

Hi I have exactly the same problem it’s got me worried.  Did you find out what the cause was ???

its a buzzing in the crease of my top of leg thigh / groin.  I have a enlarge prostate and I thinking it’s that.  But I do not have a trapped nerve and it’s not a phone in my pocket.

So I have had this issue but I hurt my back and right hip when I was 21 doing professional wrestling.  Whenever I get a massage there’s a nerve that always gets pinched and my hip needs the adjustment.  But when the Therapist gets to my right low back and flutes the nerve bundle vibrates to my labia area.   Weirdest thing ever! LOL.  But I find if I stretch and get massages and adjustments it lessens.

Hi can you give update what the phone buzzing in your leg was please.

Did anyone hear back from Sergei and his problem I know the post is 2016. But is he OK ??

I signed up just for this. I get the phantom vibrating when I put my 5g phone in my pocket and walk through my home. I take the phone out of my pocket and the thigh muscle has a feeling of phone vibrating. It lasts for a few minutes after I remove the 5g Samsung from my pocket. There is definitely a connection to the phone sitting next to my thigh. I am fit in my 40's and live a very healthy lifestyle. I work in Radiology Informatics. This is not my imagination. Something with phones and localized vibrating sensations needs to be studied

Don't have an answer because first time in my life at 67 I am experiencing this. I remember when I was a kid we went to old Mexico just across the border to buy cheap stuff. The kids had these beans they called mexican jumping beans, you put them down and they would move. Turns out they had a worm in them that would eventually die. This vibration reminds me of the vibration those worms created. The sick medical community in our country being profit based thanks to politicians keeps anyone from caring to find out what is going on unless thousands of people die from it and there is a big money making opportunity. There is a certain type of Pin worm that can invade your muscle, it develops a cyst around it can live for weeks or years and is stuck there till it dies. You get it if you ever ate any pork that was not cooked good enough to kill the worms in the cyst in the meat you eat. In your small intestine your fluids brake down the cyst releasing the worm in the pork, they mate and travel through your blood stream to your body, and can end up in your heart lungs and brain and any muscle tissue and live there till you die, or till they kill you in some cases. It is called Trichinosis. My vibrating feels like something alive moving, not some nerve twitch. Now another thing trying to kill me I guess. At this rate it will torment me to death. I ate some turkey bacon that was fresh but had a funny taste so I threw it out, too late I think. I have all the symptoms of Trichinosis, now every time I feel the vibration, I can see in my mind the worm trying to escape the cyst it created around it, Just like the worm in the Mexican jumping bean,

I have a good idea what is causing this, Larva of some type, a worm. After reading about Mexican Jumping beans and the description of why they vibrate and the fact Trichinosis is a worm that digs into your soft tissue and a cyst forms around it which is a shell just like the bean is a shell trapping the jumping bean larva. Maybe someone who has the position to do so could do a medical study on my theory.. Autistic people think out of the box, but we are not stupid.

I have been studying this for a while

Considering the extent of your infestation and the  complications being different in different people, this seems to make sense. The Trichinella which is a larva sack you eat in infected pork that is not thoroughly cooked is trapped in that sack until it reaches your small intestine, There your digestive track dissolves the sack releasing the larva in your intestine where they grow and breed then travel through your blood stream to parts of your body, heart, lungs, brain and muscle tissue. There they borough in and a cyst forms around them. Now you have a worm, larva trapped in a cyst just like it was in the pigs flesh and what is it going to do but try to get out wiggling. This is what I feel inside me, it is something alive twitching, not some nerve or anything neurological.  Is it just me or does this seem like a simple answer. My experience is this has never happened to me in my life, but about 3 weeks ago I ate some Turkey bacon that had a bad taste so I threw it out, later I had diarrhea, some stomach cramps and all other symptoms of  Trichinosis except for throwing up. I wrote it off as IBC or something as I have acid reflux.. Now weeks after eating that bacon I am having this vibration in my thigh. Then I see in the grocery store,  meat processors are now mixing pork with chicken, beef and probably Turkey if it is bacon. The significance of this is, Pigs are the only domestic animal to carry this parasite. I know what it feels like to have an insect inside your body vibrating, I got mites in my ear and it was a buzzing vibrating the same as this in my leg is. Please if any Nurses are reading this, try and get someone to look into this.

You know trichinosis is treatable. This from the Mayo Clinic.

If your provider discovers that you have roundworm (trichinella) parasites early, albendazole (Albenza) or mebendazole (Emverm) can kill the worms and larvae in the small intestine. The drugs may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pain during the treatment. This is an actual case for ivermectin which treats the gut rather quickly and muscle tissue more slowly. As a farm girl I am very educated on the life cycle of most parasites livestock can pass to humans. The worms actually burrow to the surface which creats that tingling feeling.

Hppy

All you people having this need to ask yourself a question, in the past month or more have you ever had loose stool, diarrhea any stomach pain or eaten any meat not cooked well that you know if .

This is what I found, I was having these symptoms, I just happen to be a parasite magnet I guess, had pin worms as a child, many tick bites including lyme disease and an allergic reaction to beef from another tick bite.

Most recently I got infested with a kind of mite they say does not  bite or harm people called Bryobia.  I know what it feels like to have an insect alive inside you, the movement is like a mind of it's own.

I just got over the mite infection last fall, some got in my ear causing a buzzing, I am still not sure if  it was a mite or something they brought with them but when I put alcohol in my ear the buzzing stopped for weeks till another one got in. I had no more signs of mites on me after I learned how to kill them all. Then my ear that the mite had got in, it still pops sometimes like when you are changing altitude in an air plane. Not sure what it is. I suspect something still living inside me.

So 4 days ago I am sitting writing on my lap top, I was blessed with that same vibration that I felt in my ear, this time it was in my thigh. First thing I wondered was could a mite go that far in my body to my muscle. It was very disturbing, Before I  had used Ivermectin for the mites so the next day I got some and took a dose just to see what might happen, I also took some bactrim that helped kill the mites before.. The vibrating stopped, but the next morning it was back a little weaker. I was frustrated and looked up parasites that invade muscles and one thing came up Trichinosis.  After reading all about it I remembered weeks earlier I had cooked some turkey bacon in my microwave, when I ate it, it did not taste right. Then I read Microwaves cook spotty so parasites can survive cooking meat in a microwave. But it was Turkey and only Pigs carry those larva that invade the muscle. Then I remembered in the grocery store lately especially in pepperoni pizzas section, the box says may also contain beef and chicken. So now the bastards are grinding up different animals mixing them together.

I thought I bet since it was turkey bacon, they probably added pork to it for taste but did not disclose it . I break out when eating pork or beef  from the fat and I do remember getting pimples I rarely ever get at my age.

When the vibrating persisted after the ivermectin and bactrim, the third day I was thinking this is the larva they say invades the body.

Most intestinal parasites stay in your digestive tract and it takes one dose to kill them. Lucky me I got the one that gets in your blood stream and can go to your heart, brain and lungs as well as leg muscle I found.

They prescribe 400mg every 12 hrs of Albendazole for 8 to 12 days,  for the larva that travel through your blood stream. They say it has a 70% success rate killing them off with this dose.

Tonight is 5th night since I started the ivermectin and  the 4th night since I started the Albendazole doses, 8 so far, all day and no vibration.

I will finish the dosages to make sure it is dead, but if you feel this vibration that is random and intermittent, it is most likely Trichinosis from tainted meat

No more meat of any kind for me. I can just see myself dead one day with worms eating me, after all I am their fast food joint while I am living.

Thank you God for being so thoughtful creating these nasty parasites for us.
