Hi everyone! Cedars-Sinai has opened their New Grad RN Residency for the August 8th start date! I just applied and they are still accepting publications, has anyone heard back from a recruiter or anything?
@Elevated_nurse Now Im nervous that I got the reference email knowing she didn’t ask the people she’s bringing on board. Hope I get an offer ?
@Nursetmh I’m thinking it’s not her that’s asks for the references but HR. Maybe my partner meant she can ask for the references if she wants to see it or if she’s on the fences about someone as a deciding factor. I know that if you are an internal candidate you don’t have to do a reference. My partner never had to do the references when he transitioned from a CP to CN1.

What unit did you apply for? I was an LVN as well and I thought that would make me more marketable but cedars is the only place I been able to get an interview for a new grad program.
What dept did you interview for? Congrats on getting through the interview portion and on to the reference portion! I hope we get our offer letter soon!
I also applied for the Surgical/Trauma ICU! I’m also an internal applicant.
I got an interview with Hollywood Pres new grad program, I got an offer but I declined because I wanted to wait for Cedars LOL. I applied to Providence but maybe something was wrong with my application because on the portal it just said not under consideration after some time.
@Elevated_nurse oh okay! I was like shoot I hope this still means I’m in the running. Yeah I’m an external applicant. Hopefully we hear soon! Let me know if you hear anything regarding 7N and I will let you know as well!
@Xvjesssn I also applied to providence to their Burbank location and never got a call for the ICU new grad program and same with usc keck. Truth be told only places I was interested was ucla or cedars. Hopefully we find out this week!
@Nursetmh I know that cedars should be bringing over 55 new grads which is the biggest cohort they are bringing on so it makes me hopeful.

My partner works on 7N, and he spoke to his boss and assistant about me getting the reference email. He was told that they don’t always ask about references that she didn’t request on the people she’s bringing on board. I guess maybe HR requests the references because according to him it’s up to manager discretion about requesting the references. Congrats going to ortho! The staff there are pretty cool. From what I know about the floor is that it’s heavy on pain meds.
