Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2013

U.S.A. California

Just thought it would be helpful to post a new thread for the upcoming new grad program starting this summer. I've seen the thread for the program last year and wanted to see if anyone was one of the first 250 who applied for it this year. I applied for cohort #1 and got a phone interview last week and the gentleman said that I'd receive an e-mail within 1-2 weeks. I've also heard of people getting rejection emails as well without a phone interview. Anyone have additional info they'd like to share? Good luck to all us new grads out there!

The job post is now down....took over 4 hours this time around I guess because people weren't expecting it. For the Cohort 3 job post, it went down after 20 mins.

I was one of the people thinking it would be July 24th. I knew there was something odd about that. Luckily I got it in! Good luck everyone!

Good luck to those that interviewed today!! How do you think it went?

I feel like it went well but we will see. how did everyone else feel?

Hey guys! I was there too yesterday. It think mine went great. However, there are more people whom they might like better..:sorry: But i did my best and still being positive.. if its for me its for me, but if its not then thanks for the opportunity. at least I get to practice LOL! How about you guys?!;)

thanks for this!!! i really appreciate it:)

thanks for this!!! i really appreciate it:)

Hi chliRN, and congrats and good luck to all of you moving on in the process for Cohort #3!

My second interview felt really informal. The manager who interviewed me started the conversation with telling me that there were no clinical questions and that this round of interviews was all about finding out who I am as a person and if I would fit into the culture of the unit. They will ask some scenario type questions about how you cared for your patients in the past. Like, "Tell me about a time when you went above and beyond a patient's expectations." A question that throws a lot of people off is one about "a time when you broke the rules." They want to know if you are going to abide by hospital policy, evidence-based practices, and not be swayed by "seasoned" nurses who may bend the rules. They want to know you will be a safe employee. I remember a lot of customer service oriented questions, as customer service is becoming more of a focus for hospitals now.

You will do fine! It is nothing to get nervous about. Just be yourself and let them know that you will be a good fit. The hard part is the waiting after the interview! It's torture!

Good Luck!

I think mine went well...I did my best, so I have to rest in that! Good Luck Everyone! :cat:

I wonder how many of us were there at the interview because I know that there were about 50-60 of us from the previous interview and they are ultimately selecting 25 candidates.

I am guessing we have about a 50/50 chance at this point.

Has anyone who applied to the 4th cohort heard anything yet? Anyone get a phone screen this week?

Neenarn, I applied, and I was wondering the same thing...I haven't heard anything yet.
