Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2013

Just thought it would be helpful to post a new thread for the upcoming new grad program starting this summer. I've seen the thread for the program last year and wanted to see if anyone was one of the first 250 who applied for it this year. I applied for cohort #1 and got a phone interview last week and the gentleman said that I'd receive an e-mail within 1-2 weeks. I've also heard of people getting rejection emails as well without a phone interview. Anyone have additional info they'd like to share? Good luck to all us new grads out there!

Is there a list for the area of interests available?

A link for the next round of applications? They took it down as soon as they reached 250. But on there it said the next apps would be available April 29th for cohort 2

When I use the search engine to see if there is any job listing available for the new grad program, it didn't return anything at all. I thought it will have a special link for the applicants to fill up the application.... Are you positive that the next application starts on April 29? Thanks again!

TopGear: Yeah they only post the link when applications are being accepted. You will find it under the regular job search.....here were the dates:

Cohort #1: June 17, 2013 – application date March 18, 2013

Currently licensed

-Cohort #2: July 22, 2013 – application date April 29, 2013

License needed by June, 1, 2013

-Cohort #3: August 19, 2013 - application date May 28, 2013

Licensed needed by July 1, 2013

-Cohort #4: September 30, 2013 – application date July 24, 2013

License needed by August 15, 2013

Applications for the RN New Grad Residency Program will be accepted until the first two-hundred fifty (250) applicants apply.

SandyMickey, I couldn't get through this morning, but I'll try again. I had a few other questions too though. I'm not exactly sure about what to put as my area of interest (because I'm not sure which units are hiring). Also, I'm assuming we only need one copy of the portfolio?

anyone know what time on the 29th the application opens at, based on the first cohort?

I've been going through past threads for Cedars new grad program, and they have said to put down the unit you want to work in eventually. For example I told the lady on the phone that I want L&D and she asked if would I be willing to do Med-Surg. So for the cover I'm going to go ahead and put L&D, unless someone on here finds out more recent info. Pasts threads also indicated that everyone starts in Med-surg and then a potential to transfer is possible 3-6 months. Going in at 3pm, super nervous and excited!

I just found out that they only want nursing GPA/transcripts (for second-degree nursing). Also, as previously mentioned, put what unit you want to work in for the long-term.
