Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2013

Just thought it would be helpful to post a new thread for the upcoming new grad program starting this summer. I've seen the thread for the program last year and wanted to see if anyone was one of the first 250 who applied for it this year. I applied for cohort #1 and got a phone interview last week and the gentleman said that I'd receive an e-mail within 1-2 weeks. I've also heard of people getting rejection emails as well without a phone interview. Anyone have additional info they'd like to share? Good luck to all us new grads out there!

1st cohort they took 250 applicants. I applied March 21st and did the phone interview March 29th. My friends applied to cohort 2 and they only took 150 applicants that time. This time they only took 100. Those are really good odds though considering they only choose 25. Good luck everyone!

They're choosing 25 for cohort 3? That would be great!

My phone hasn't left my sight all day waiting for it to ring! I really thought we would hear something about cohort 2 today!

Sandy Mickey- what time did they call you at? And try hired 25 just for cohort 1? I wonder if its the same for all the cohorts...

They called me about 3p. And yes they chose 25. My friend who interviewed for cohort 2 was told that 50 made it to the final open house and they were picking 25....so it's a 50/50 shot

It was only up for about 17 minutes today...as soon as it got its first 100 applicants, they pulled it off! Crazy! I literally hit refresh for 4 solid hours til it opened and I quickly submitted my app...by the time I rechecked it 10 minutes later it was down. :cat:

Sorry to hear that. It's so competitive these days!! :/ A friend of mine works at Cedars and he only has an ADN but he's been there for 5 years! Why didn't I go to nursing school sooner?? :Sigh: Keep your head up. Hope you get in somewhere. I'm actually just starting an ADN program and my biggest fear is that I won't be able to land a job with an ADN.

I am in the same boat as you all! I have had my phone on, charged, and at my side all day...no call yet! Every time I get an email notification, my heart skips a beat, thinking that it might be a rejection! Gahhhhhhh!!!

I am wondering how many that got interviewed from cohort #2 reapplied for cohort #3, since we haven't heard back yet? I think it would be so much better for both parties to notify applicants before the next app opens. That way we don't suffer not knowing and they don't get a bunch of us reapplying who may not need to (fingers crossed).

Did anyone waiting for the final decision from cohort 2 get a rejection email for today's application? I did around 8pm and I have no idea what to think of it.

Geez...that is a bummer! Who knows if that is why....sometimes there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason about this whole job process. Your door of opportunity will open soon, just stay positive...it will happen!:cat:
