Cedars-Sinai New Grad Program Mar 2014

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for the people in the Cedars Sinai New Grad program starting Mar 3! Maybe we can figure out good places to live, how to prepare, etc!

Helpful updates:

I talked to one of the other candidates that I did my group trauma interview with, and she was told today that they did not choose her, but she may be given a spot in the general candidate pool. She told me they will inform her next week.

Oh! You weren't part of the regular new grad program? Did you do the same interview steps as the rest of us? or did the Trauma group go through a different process? We had the self recording, round 1 open house with an educator, and then a round 2 open house with a nurse manager.

Interesting....seems like they are going by departments. CaliRN619 you'll be working in Trauma, is that ICU?

Yes we went through the same exact steps of the new grad program, but we had an additional group interview last week for trauma candidates working in the ER.

I think CaliRN is referring to a program other than the New Grad program, because ER/Trauma and specialties were not options for the New grad program

My apologies for the lack of background info everyone.

Yes, there were no ER/trauma options for the new grad rn program, however 3 other applicants, including myself were asked if we were interested in a special ER/trauma unit new grad rn training program due to certain qualifications: gpa, past experience, etc.

I am assuming that the 4 of us from the special program were contacted today about the ER/trauma positions, but not the general new grad program positions.

Just got off phone with HR. Due to Nurses week they were backed up with everything. They haven't made all decisions yet, but are aiming to let us know by early next week. They couldn't tell me how many they are taking. Can't believe they're making us wait another weekend. Goodluck to us!

I doubt it. On Friday when I spoke with HR they said they are aiming for early this week, but not guarantees. I'm guessing mid week or end of the week -_- the wait is painful.
