Cedars-Sinai 2018 May New Grad Program

Did anyone else apply to this new grad program? I completed the one-way interview and assessments.

Ya I was a little confused about that too because both of my instructors signed a letter of rec when I graduated, but they either scanned it to me as a PDF or signed using the computer? Not sure if that is acceptable or not.

Can you let me know if you find out?

Will do. I will probably try to get an original just in case!

Do you have any idea how many they are hiring?

Also, does anyone know what the interview is like via old cohorts?

TIA!!!

I'm so nervous!

Does anyone know when they'll announce who we're selected for the new grad program? I forgot to ask.

They said 1-2 weeks! Hopefully it's only a week! Lol

I think the manager I spoke with said they're taking 25-30 people out of the 60-79 that interviewed. I wasn't sure how many were in that list. It's just hard to see because we don't know how many sports are for each unit.

That's what I heard too; I hea d there was about 60 applicants! Did you get to interview with the unit you wanted? They assigned me a random one.

I kinda wish we had more info, I hate playing the what if game lol

There was a lot more units hiring than I expected and the one I had listed wasn't available. I ended up interviewing with Med/surg tele but the director of pediatrics was there as well. So I am not super positive what I just interviewed for. I felt like my interview was a little rushed, I was basically one of the last called, not sure if that worked in my favor.

I had heard they they made their decisions yesterday and that HR calls would go out next week with offers.

I wis they would have emailed that unit sheet they had. It would have been nice to research the different units since that's where we aren't basically interviewing for. So I felt really taken off guard in that aspect. Also there were at least 10 units and if they're hiring 30 hypothetically each one would hire 3 people. It seems like there would be a 50/50 (69 interviewed 30 hires) chance but that's not really the case, it really how many people chose that unit lol.

It really threw me off as well. And there is no way to know how many positions were open for each unit. I would assume most went the Med surg route but who knows. I didn't feel comfortable choosing anything else since I had no time to research.

Do you think that the unit we interviewed with is actually the unit we will be offered a position with?

I also was one of the last people! They didn't really rush me but at the same time it was a hard interview to read.

@corcordium, I've heard they sent units out in the past, I wish they would have too. It makes more sense and would have given us a chance to prepare I feel like.

It was def a hard interview to read. Everyone was so friendly so it could go any direction. I wasn't asked as many questions as I expected so I filled a lot of time with my own. It seemed like they really wanted to wrap up after a long day of interviews. It made me wonder if they fill in positions as they go, I really hope being near the end doesn't factor in in any way.

As far as getting hired by the unit that actually interviewed us, great question! I wish I knew.
