Hi,
Just wanted to start a thread for those applying in Jan/Feb to CCSF's RN program (Fall 2016 start).
Anyone? This will be my first time applying, but I know it's lottery based so not holding my breath. Good luck to all! :)
Alicia, You're right--It is something we should be concerned about. Hopefully they can give us more information during the orientation about the school's situation and how that will affect the program if it does lose it accreditation. I just received my acceptance from CSM, but I hear nothing but good things about CCSF's RN program and tuition is also way less than CSM. So, I'm pretty much set on CCSF because I'm very familiar with the school--I live close by and I've taken all my GE courses at CCSF. Did you apply to other programs?
Definitely looking forward to hearing what they say about that during orientation. However, I think I will be following up on what they say just so I won't be blind sided by another school's policies.
Congrats on your acceptance!!! CCSF also has very good NCLEX passing rates compared to other ADN programs. I actually did not even step foot on the campus until last week when I went to pick up my packet haha. You're so lucky you live close by! My commute from Pittsburg is about an hour and a half, but absolutely worth it, so I'm not complaining! haha.
Yes I applied to Napa Valley College, they did something new this year where they only accepted the first 17 people to apply by 9:00am in Feb, but I didn't get into that one I also applied to Merritt College in Oakland, Delta in Stockton, and I'm thinking about Modesto Junior College, their application actually just opened today.

Thank you for clarifying, Julia!
I actually mentioned to EB that the nursing program won't be loosing its accreditation, just the school (as you said, unlikely, but I'm too much of a planner to not do my research haha) and the woman I spoke to heard directly from her superior that they will not accept credits from a school that is not accredited, even if the program is accredited. You're absolutely right, the program itself will be accredited and we will be able to finish it, but it might be tricky to transfer to a BSN program, from my understanding. Of course, this is only from one conversation I had, I'm sure there's more to it
