? about cc's date/time stamps

I just checked the website that lists the info on app status. They issued the date time stamps for nursing school applicants from 6/6-6/9. It states that 186 people applied. The date and time I was given was 6/6 at 8:02 A.M. I'm thinking this is a pretty good time but was not given a number because I'm still in my last pre-req. Am I reading this correctly? My friend who applied in March got 3/28 (the first day of ap's) and 8:00 A.M. When do they give you your number for placement? We both had to apply for FAll, even though Fall has already been filled. TIA

Just out of curiousity, where did you apply?

Sorry, I'm of no help. I in the nursing program at Estrella SWSC. It was a waiting list. How does the date/time stamp stuff work at the rest of the colleges. They date/stamp it with the exact time you turn it in? So it sounds like "first come, first serve?"

I applied at Maricopa Community Colleges, my first choice was Mesa CC but I'm going to change it to Glendale's part-time program probably. How the date time stamp works is they take all the applications (186 this time) for all the Maricopa Community College nursing programs during application week. Once they've received them all they check them, enter them in the computer, etc. Once all that is done they randomly shuffle them and then begin date/time stamping them. The first date given is the first day of the application week (or so that's what I've been told) which was 6/6, all the way through 6/9. Since I received a date stamp of 6/6 I'm assuming that's pretty good. They do this to ensure that no one spends the night waiting in line, it's a lottery system basically. It doesn't really matter which date you turn your ap in, just as long as it's in that week. I turned my ap in on 6/8, but was given the 6/6 8:02 A.M. time. There's at least a one semester wait right now, probably two, it all depends on your date time stamp.

Okay, I get it, thanks for explaining. I wonder if you will only get a 1 semester wait then, since you got such a good stamp.

And what if you don't get in after one semester, do you have to reenter the lottery?

Do you know if they do the lottery for advanced placement? I will already be an LPN when I apply to the MCC program.

I'm hoping I just have a one semester wait, it would really work out great for me. I'm not sure about how their advanced placement for LPN's works or if they have a wait. Do you know where you're gonna apply yet?

Wow, that is really complicated! :rotfl: When I applied, I just waited around to hear from the nursing dept. I had no idea what my stamp or number was!

Actually, since you are in last pre req, the ones that are finished with pre reqs will get priority. I applied in the fall and was in my last pre req too, and got accepted for summer, so that is what...a one semester wait! So, it should work out good for you! I really didn't wait at all cuz my class at RIO didn't end till mid January (but it was still a fall class).

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about the date/time stamp. You are likely to get in the part time program Jan. 06!! Good Luck to you!!:balloons:

Thrashej- I'm in my final pre-req at Rio, A&PII. Did you start your classes yet? I know you start sometime this month. Hopefully I"ll be right behind you at GCC.

Started Friday. It's been crazy, for sure, only to get crazier!:uhoh3:

Good Luck! I hope I will be around to answer your questions when the time gets near as Glendale Student so appreciatively was for me! Enjoy the rest of your time off!:)
