CCRN test revised for 2010. Any one know of any good, current study programs? The other nurses and myself work in an ICU that is very behind the times....only an occasional Swan Ganz, no trauma, no neuro, no cardiac caths or any type of cardiac surgery...we do have ventilators, vasoactive drips, and mainly sever medical problems not able to be managed on a regular med/surg floor...We need a good program for study to pass CCRN...Please, any suggestions welcome. :)

I would use the same study materials that are already mentioned here but just realize that the percentages have been changed and that you will need to study a little more on areas like neuro which have increased in percentage of exam questions since the new version of the test came out.

Thanks...It just really concerns me b/c our unit is small (8 beds) located in a rural community. Most cardiacs and neuros are shipped...going to take a lot of review and studying!!!!:uhoh3:

I work in the SICU so all the neuro cases go to the NSICU and the cardiac cases go to the CSICU or CCU. I only see the stable cases once in a while and I was a little intimidated when I first started studying and taking the practice test. But I agree with everyone else, the Pass CCRN CD and the Laura Vonfrolio DVDs are all you really need. GOOD LUCK!!

Does anyone know where to get the Pass CCRN CD without buying the entire book?

I just took the CCRN for my second time today and I was SOOOOO relieved I passed! :yeah:

I've been a nurse for 15 years, 11 years which were PACU and MICU. The first time I took the test I didn't study and I didn't pass by a few questions . The second time around I studied for a good 5 weeks. I listened to the Laura Gasparis Vonfrolio CCRN Review Cram audio CD's over and over again. I listened to it sooo much- I can still feel the ear buds in my ears. I also reviewed the book that came with the audio CD's. The book and audio CD is to the point, and packed with info that I saw on the test. Daily I would do the quiz questions on Pass CCRN Computer CD. I barely read the Pass CCRN book, it was overwhelming and I don't do well reading info in outline form. The book is huge and packed with way too much info- simply put its good for a reference. At the end of my 5weeks I did a total of 3 practice tests from the PASS CCRN CD. I would always score 70%-75%. The tests and quizzes were great since they would give rationale for the answers. I was worried that 70-75% wouldn't be good enough to pass the actual test, but I passed with most sections of the test in the low 80 percentiles. You need 70% overall to pass. Looking back I really felt the Pass CCRN test questions were more difficult than the actual exam. Hope this helps anyone taking this exam.

All I can say is it's a relief to be done- I finally have my CCRN!!!

I'm taking my CCRN in July. I bought the most recent Pass CCRN book with CD but have also had trouble finding the CCRN Review Cram set. Anyone have theirs that they're not using anymore? Even if it's just a loan - I'll send it back to you when I'm done! Thanks.
