CCRN Exam

Hi Everyone... I am preparing to take the CCRN exam next year. I was wondering if anyone had any good study guides they've used or heard about. Most of the text that I'm finding online is 7-10 years old and I was hoping to find information that had been updated more recently.

Any suggestions? :)

You might check the MICU/SICU Forum. There are good CCRN threads that pop up there from time to time.

yes i just past yesterday exam was tough. used a dvd from aacn and thier book. also had some of laura material. I just have over 1 year experience but i had to go over the materail several times

I recommend PASS CCRN by Dennison, but wait for the 3rd Edition to come out next Jan. A co-worker used only PASS CCRN to study from and passed easily. I test in two weeks and hope to do the same!

I highly recommend Laura gasparis Vonfrolio. Her materials are excellent! I passed the CCRN exam this March and ONLY used her stuff. Good luck!

Vonfrolio's material is very helpful. Thomas Ahrens and Donna Prentice also have a Critical Care Certification Exam Preparation and Practice book (that is title or very close to it). A new edition just came out in Sept 2006. The book is very readable and has practice questions with each chapter and comprehensive practice tests and study disc. I suggest not purchasing too many of the AACN study materials unless you have problems sleeping. Good luck!

Happy to report that I passed! Let's party!
