So i went to Crri on Feb 1 at around 9:00am to summit my application for the fall semester, this will be my second time, hopefully i get in!!! How many times did you applied before getting in?
...also I have no clue how they select people. I do know it's a well rounded group and it's not only based on gpa. Only because if you read on CCRI nursing page, here, talk to people. Some with high gpa's get denied. Some with lower got in. I'm going with it's a lottery. Waiting for your golden ticket. I already been denied once last time around. I'm praying for a miracle.
I been a cna for 11 years , medical assistant last 6 years . I heard its tough all around I really dont care what other people do I will finish no matter who or what even if it means doing lpn in mass 1st then do rn . Im so scared I thought I applied for a campus with 76 spots I didnt I made a mistake when I look ed. Pinky I got that email sent to my phone now thanks
WOW!!!! Thanks everyone for all the updates! For being the ones willing to do the emailing/calling, and passing on the info to the rest of us!
It will be great if we really do hear by Friday.... but part of me thinks.... "what if I don't get in, am I ready to hear as soon as Friday?" I had been planning all along to know nothing until mid April.
Many posts back, there were a few comments made about fellow students in the prereq. classes not being willing to help others. I can't tell you how many times I saw that happen! No one wanted anyone else to get a better grade. While I understand being competitive and wanting to do well.... not helping others is just bad karma. And like someone else said, we are nursing students, shouldn't it just be second nature to care and want to help others? Just sayin! That's part of the reason I love this site so much, everyone has been so helpful and supportive with each other, THESE are the people I want to be a nurse with!!
I am crossing my fingers for everyone here! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!
I was very glad to have a couple of good friends during Anatomy and Physiology. We totally helped each other out and left both classes with A's. However, as mentioned, the attitude of some other students was very disgraceful. You could not talk to these people. They would immediately discourage you, make everything seem much harder than in reality, and if possible, tell you perhaps nursing was not for you. Just to give you an idea, I was told that in order to pass through the Nursing program I needed to either quit my job or get a divorce! To my delight, I read an article online about a single mom (2 kids) who graduated not too long ago with all the support from her family. Now... that's giving someone a lot of hope! I live my life with a simple principle.... treat others the way you want to be treated (which is very different than to treat others the way they treat you - that's being reciprocal). I believe God has a plan for all of us and sometimes, although we don't understand why things don't happen they way we want them to, He is still in control and will do not what we want, but what we need. Simply because He loves us. Keep the faith everyone... good things will come for all of us!
Hi yes I help the rich people all the way to the homeless if I can . That is how I was raised I am not weak I am nice but dont get my bad side lol. I read info wrong I thought all the day programs had 75 spots . Today when I read pinks post I felt sick only 48 spots for day in providence. Marcos I think our will can do anything , my friend finished single mom 3 kids had to retake nursing 1 and 2 after having left an abusive relationship.

Pink777 you are awesome! Thank you for the information :) I am reviewing A&P and Dosage until September. Will also be doing the CNA class ASAP. Glad you put all that info out there. And Pinake... they will decide who gets in and who doesn't based upon a pointing system criteria ... you can get more information following this link ---> http://www.ccri.edu/dean-hrs/NURS1.pdf
