CCP vs Roxborough Memorial Question

Published

Hello all,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but CCP and Roxborough Memorial Hospital's nursing programs both award you an associate's degree upon completion. CCP takes two years and RM takes 21 months, but with Roxborough, you have to have your science prerequisites completed before entering. At CCP, the science classes are part of the two year course. What I'm wondering is why do people choose Roxborough's program over CCP when it seems like CCP is faster and cheaper?

Thanks for any feedback.

Roxborough is a associated with their hospital and from what I heard from other students that went to CCP, Roxborough has more hands on clinical hours. Which will benefit you when the program is finished. CCP also has a longer waitlist than Roxborough b/c its cheaper. I'm currently in Roxborough's program and my experience has been excellent thus far, and have know people that have attended CCP's program. They both have good reputations. Hope this helps.

Roxborough gives you a Diploma of Nursing , while CCP gives you an ADN (Associates Degree in Nursing)

CCP is a very difficult program. There is very little classroom time, the instructors are not always knowledgeable. You basically teach yourself at CCP. Check out rateyourprofessor and look up some of the nursing instructors.

Specializes in Cardiac.

Roxborough gives you a diploma. I just graduated in May. I recommend the school, its tough like any other nursing program, but you get so many clinical hours and the teachers are great. Prepare you very well for NCLEX.

Thanks, everyone for your feedback. I wasn't understanding the difference between ADN programs and ASN. Got it now.
