Hey everyone! I'm planning on applying for CCP's nursing program starting Fall 2017. Is there anybody else who's also applying this year? And for those who applied already, how does their point system work when it comes to picking who gets accepted?
Just do whatever is best for you. In my case, going the ADN route is best for me because of financial reasons. I have a family, so my income is limited and I don't want to accrue a bunch of debt. Plus, I'm hoping to get my future employer to pay for my Bachelor's lol. However, if money wasn't the issue or I didn't have a family to support I would directly go for the BSN. So it just depends on what works best for your current situation, especially since they basically take the same amount of time.
The bsn program does cost more, but i will be done. Im already paying outta pocket for my ccp classes because i cant get any financial aid. But if i choose ccp, i will only have to take the nursing classes because i have everything else. So one (7) credit course a semester. It will be around 2k outta pocket each semester. My big concern is that the rn-bsn programs I'm looking at want a min of 30-45 credits there which is like another year or two. btw, i am considering the cost but i did get a partial scholarship for the bsn program. I don't have kids but i know ccp is a good program as well. Geez im still not sure what im gonna do. I am a very indecisive person.

i found out that i got in by checking my degree path. They changed my major to nursing. They changed it in the evening because i probably checked it about 5 times that day prior lol. But i took the test on the 9th, and my major was changed on the 19th. So i guess you should see something within that time frame. But if not, don't be discouraged. Some student's major don't change at all and they get accepted. But good luck everyone. If you guys get in, I've made a facebook group "Community College of Philadelphia Nursing Class of 2019" so we can all have help one another on our journey through nursing school!
