I figured I would start this topic to lower my anxiety just a little. I took the health allied test today and I have to wait till next week to get my scores. I really feel like im on pins and needles right now and I know I'll be a nervous wreck when I actually wait for my acceptance. Before I even got started on my journey to be a nurse I came across this website and It really answered a lot of questions about the application process, and was insightful in other areas of nursing that enabled me to think of more questions for answering. what I really love the most was that in previous years ccp applicants supported each other during the nerve wrecking waiting period on getting accepted. that support was so tremendous that a lot of the applicants bonded and became friends. Is there anyone else that has applied for the 2014 CCP program?
Wiat, may I ask how you got the Child Abuse Clearance form?? I did it, but I don't know if it was right. I got it from this website (http://www.dpw.state.pa.us/findaform/childabusehistoryclearanceforms/S_001087) and submitted it since March 20. So, I am still waiting.
Here is the information directly from the PA website and their FAQ page. There is a contact number to inquire about your clearance as well.

7.) How long do the results of the record checks take to be returned?
The Department of Public Welfare is required by the CPSL to process the Pennsylvania
Child Abuse History Record Check within 14 days. This requirement is being met by the
Department. There are times when individuals do not complete the applications correctly
and more information may be needed which often prolong the results being returned.
Current processing times at the time of this FAQ for the FBI clearances through
Cogent/DPW and the PA Child Abuse Clearance are 0.57 days and 11 days respectively.
With regards to the FBI clearance, this is the time it takes for the results to get to DPW
for interpretation from the time the applicant has their prints electronically scanned
through a Cogent approved site. If no record exists, the results letter is immediately
printed and mailed. With mailing and processing time, these results are not taking longer
than a week. There are exceptions to this, for example if there is a criminal record the
results have to be interpreted. However, as long as the applicant is cooperative with
getting additional information as requested, this is not taking longer than 3 weeks. The
processing time for the PA Child Abuse History clearance is currently 11 days and then
the appropriate time for mailing should be added. For questions regarding the processing
time for the PA State Police Criminal History Clearance, please contact the PA State
Police at (717) 783-9973. When agencies make a decision to hire an applicant, they
should be proactive in ensuring that the applicant is completing the necessary
requirements for the clearances in a timely manner to avoid delays in hiring.
Questions regarding the status of the Child Abuse History Record Check or the FBI
Record Check may be directed to ChildLine at (717) 783-6211.
Thanks bossyrobi.
I thought I was doing something wrong. Since I mailed it on March 20, I will probably get it this week or the next. Then, I am going to do the criminal background check. Thank God, there is a fingerprinting location close to my house. Then, soon after, I have to find a primary care doctor that accepts new patient (I never got sick or went to a hospital----> My previous PCP closed his clinic years ago) and also get my HCPR.
Yep, I have so many things on my plate right now. I hope it goes smoothly.

Thats good. I have kind of let my fitness decline. I have some time to get my rear in gear. Don't want to lose my spot because I failed the physical.
