 I'm going to be taking the CCM Exam for the first time this Fall, and would like to hear from those who have taken it; i.e. what study materials (if any), did you find useful, and which areas of the test were the hardest? Thanks!:wink2:

hey if someone did not get results from their dashboard, call CCM thats what I had to do.Wow thats nice we get a lapel pin, great.Oh happy days:clpty:

Yee Haw, I passed! Thank you Jesus!!!!! Oh girls, this has been an ordeal for sure, but we were all in the same canoe, and that made this bearable. Congrats to you all! We should start our own group, CCMES (CCM Exam Survivors)! :yeah: Best wishes! And don't be strangers.

I am SO THRILLED for all of us!! I went shopping today to reward myself. Everyone here has been so nice and supportive. It has meant a lot to me to have had you all as a support.

My suggestion for those who are taking the test in the future is to focus on answers that are geared toward the assessment or needs of the PATIENT. I kept my answers patient centric, and it may have may a difference. Good luck to everyone.

just checked my dashboard and i passed! this has certainly been a roller coaster ride of emotion. thanks to all for the support. looking forward to our certificate, and adding the initials behind my name.

Congratulations all! Sad to say but I did not pass. Better luck next time. For any of you that passed the CCM...Can you share the names of study guides you used? websites, CD's, etc... Interesting in purchasing as well.

Thank you

Joy, I'm so sorry to hear that. I studied for a few weeks prior to the test by using the study guide and flash cards by Mometrix Media. I also purchased the Case Manager's Handbook third edition by Mullahy, but did not spend too much time on the book.

Much of what I studied was NOT on the test. For example, I spent way too much time studying laws and do not recall one question regarding that. I will say that the study guide and flash cards were helpful overall. The study guide also gave examples on how to take the test and how to approach the questions, and I found that to be helpful. I'm sure you will pass in December. Don't give up!

Joy I am so sorry!! I used the ccm certification guide by Fattorusso. It has a disc that has questions that you can practice on. I also borrowed a disc from my coworker by datachem. It has 1003 questions on the disc. It was from 2007 but it helped tremendously. It pulls questions from the book I listed above, the book that lisa mentions and the cmsa website etc. I heard the disc was close to $300. They do however guarantee you will pass the test with the cd. Between the book and that disc I felt WELL prepared for the test. Good Luck!! You can do it.

Congrats to all....I passed, too!! Can't wait to get the actual certificate and pin!! Great job, everyone!!

Joy,

Hang in there. I found the study guide to be the most helpful. I also studied the CCM Core Curriculum. I know you will do fine in Dec.

Hi Joy,

I also took the exam in July and just found out that I too passed. I used the Software from Datachem only. 1020 questions that I studied for weeks. I purchased the software directly from datachem on June 8, 2010. I have the CD and the original paperwork. The retail price was $259 with shipping. If you are interested, I would sell it for $125...half the cost. I was going to try to sell it on ebay and then saw your posting. Let me know. Brings the overall cost down for both of us! Good luck the next time you take it!

Lisa I am so sorry you did not pass. What helped me the most was Denise Fattorusso A Case Managers Study Guide and I also used wth Mometrix flash cards.I could take the flash cards around with me.And I did alot of studying at Barnes and Noble great environment to study,so find a place that is conducive for your studying.I also found that using too many resources to study overwhelmed me and confused me,so my advice is to find yourself study guides that you feel will benefit from. Also which I did not review until after the test, the glossary on the CCMC website would have been heplful to me,some of the terminology I saw there was on the test, and I would also check the references suggestion on the CCMC website might be helpful too.The good thing is that when you take your test in December you will get your results then.Keep checking this site for support it helped me awhole lot. Most of all though I asked the LORD to design that test for me to pass and each time I studied I prayed before for the LORD to help me retain the information and use it where I needed it on the test.Honey you will pass in December I will be praying for you,God blees you.
