I passed the CCM last year. If I recall correctly, I have to get 60 CEU's before renewal at year 5?Where do you go to get your CEU's for recertification?

I am taking the exam this December. I am also interested in the answer. How did you study?

Hello. I am happy to provide some answers to this topic. First off, congrats on taking and passing the CCM exam! It is an honor for sure and you are joining a growing body of professionals who are in a unique position to shape health care delivery.
I am an RN with the CCM credential and just recently completed my recertification. At the time of my recertification, it was 80 contact hours that were required over 5 years time. Moreover, the contact hours had to be approved by the CCM credentialling body. This means you will need to do your homework BEFORE you do the work/ pay the fee for the CEU's. In addition to this, make sure you enter in your completed contact hours into the CCM dashboard which can be found at https://ccmcertification.org/ccmc-dashboard. I am not certain when this dashboard becomes available to CCM candidates.
I HIGHLY recommend you do not wait until the last minute to complete these requirements. While your renewal date may be the last date of the month per your certification period, the deadline to submit your materials may be a few days before the renewal date. There are no opportunities to submit a late renewal!!! You will be required to retake that exam if you miss your recertification!
Best of luck to you as you move forward with your new certification!
To obtain my CEU's I did a variety of things- I paid for a pack of CEU's specific for CCM through careersmart.com. It cost about 140$ for the full 80 CEU's. I also attended an Interqual training through work- that provided 6 CEU's. In addition, you should consider joining your local Case Management Society of America chapter. In the NY chapter I belong to, there are chapter meetings with speakers that educate on topics relative to the CCM domain. These usually included a CEU or two. Besides gaining the opportunity to obtain CEU's, the networking opportunities are wonderful and can be a boon to someone new to the field! Good luck!

I strongly suggest joining and using the CMSA. Their annual conference gives you more than enough CEs for a year, and the local meetings also give CEs. Case In Point, their journal, also has CE offerings in it. Most of the rehab and general hospitals here apply for and grant CM CE, too, because they know we need them. I have found that the CCMC accepts many different kinds of offerings for CCM renewal, and they are very helpful folks. Call 'em up and ask 'em.
Agree definitely that you do not want to wait until the thing is almost due-- you'd have to take a lot of vaca time to get it all in! get about 20-25% per year and you're all set.
