CCM CEU's for recertification?
To obtain my CEU's I did a variety of things- I paid for a pack of CEU's specific for CCM through careersmart.com. It cost about 140$ for the full 80 CEU's. I also attended an Interqual training through work- that provided 6 CEU's. In addition, you should consider joining your local Case Management Society of America chapter. In the NY chapter I belong to, there are chapter meetings with speakers that educate on topics relative to the CCM domain. These usually included a CEU or two. Besides gaining the opportunity to obtain CEU's, the networking opportunities are wonderful and can be a boon to someone new to the field! Good luck!

CCM CEU's for recertification?
Hello. I am happy to provide some answers to this topic. First off, congrats on taking and passing the CCM exam! It is an honor for sure and you are joining a growing body of professionals who are in a unique position to shape health care delivery. I am an RN with the CCM credential and just recently completed my recertification. At the time of my recertification, it was 80 contact hours that were required over 5 years time. Moreover, the contact hours had to be approved by the CCM credentialling body. This means you will need to do your homework BEFORE you do the work/ pay the fee for the CEU's. In addition to this, make sure you enter in your completed contact hours into the CCM dashboard which can be found at https://ccmcertification.org/ccmc-dashboard. I am not certain when this dashboard becomes available to CCM candidates. I HIGHLY recommend you do not wait until the last minute to complete these requirements. While your renewal date may be the last date of the month per your certification period, the deadline to submit your materials may be a few days before the renewal date. There are no opportunities to submit a late renewal!!! You will be required to retake that exam if you miss your recertification! Best of luck to you as you move forward with your new certification!

workplace disorganization, mental torture and bullying
It is so sad this you are experiencing this. I too had a similar experience with my first preceptor right out of college. I ended up leaving the unit & going elsewhere, though, very similar personalities prevailed in the second position. I am currently working for an insurance company, first as a Case Manager now as a Clinical Trainer. Even in my new position, those old, demonizing attitudes are around. I guess it's everywhere- unfortunate, yet everywhere.... Hang in there, call out the injustices, stand up to it.. Eventually, they will realize you will not tolerate their petty, juvenile behavior. Keep your head high and know in your heart :heartbeat you are providing the best care to your patients possible.

Greetings from new member & soon to graduate BScN Student!!
Hi! I am a 31 year old married female about to graduate from college with a BS in Nursing!! I am thrilled that the time spent in school has gone by so fast. I have learned an amazing amount of stuff and still feel as though I know absolutly nothing. Today I was offered a position in the MICU at a very large, academic/research facility/ hospital. Of course I took the job. I wonder if there is anyone out there who has done this sort of route (non traditional student with family, takes job in MICU) if so, how long did it take for you to feel comfortable in your role as a nurse?? My employer offers a wonderful orientation that will last approx 4-5 months long. Anyone care to share? I begin after graduation of course!!:balloons:
