Hello everyone, I need to get a+p done soon. I was wondering if anyone who has taken microbiology at ccconline had to do labs at home that required growing things and so on. What does the lab consist of doing and how does the professor grade the labs and are all the tests and quizzes timed. Was the class really doable and is anyhting proctored or done where you have to go to the campus? Anyone who has taken this class at ccconline or knows the answers to these questions your help would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch
hi sand dollar,am thinking of taking micro through ccconline in the spring. was wondering how many weeks your class was?
Hi!
There are two sessions; Spring 1 is 15 weeks long and Spring 2 is 10 weeks.
The bio and English classes I am taking right now are Fall 2 classes, so 10 weeks long. They aren't hard. I am however, going to be taking A&P1, Dietary nutrition and General Psych in Spring 1 of next year. I am taking them in the longer session to give me plenty of study time when it comes to the A&P. I also wanted to focus on that so I'm taking 2 easier pre-reqs to go along with it. I'm putting off micro until next fall. Let me know how that class is please.
I'm in CO and my hubby happens to be working in Pueblo, so I chose Pueblo CC as my home college. If I move back home to Brighton, I may change it to Front Range.
BTW, I am debating changing psych to Micro in the spring, so I may be taking it at the same time you do. If I do, then maybe we can be study partners. :)
The website is www.ccconline.org, and there are many colleges involved. The majority of Colorado community colleges, actually. You just choose one and apply at that college. You pay for it through the home college as well. Check out the site, lots of info.
In a PM Blueelle told me about micro and said as a conclusion "... there are 5 units, each unit consists of approx. 4 chapters to read, 4 chapter quizzes, one exam, 3 labs, 1 lab quiz, lab questions, and 2 discussions. You have two weeks to complete the requirements for each unit. And there is a 3-5 page paper you need to do on a disease/illness relating to microorganisms"
So it does look like there is a paper involved. I am currently taking on in Bio 105, so it looks like it may be in all bio classes this way.
