CCBC Spring 2012

Published

Well, I may as well start a new thread for CCBC's Spring 2012 applicants. :) I hope I get good news this time around. :) Anyone else planing on applying for spring? I know it is early but we can chat a long the way. :) This will be my 3rd time applying. I have applied to Essex twice and now I will be applying to Catonsville. They say 3rd time is a charm, right!

To those that will be applying for the first time, AN is a great place to get info and have some really good support. :) Good Luck everyone! :heartbeat

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who was accepted!!! I got my letter today and was declined for the second time!!! Among the ones who have been accepted, if you dont mind me asking, what is your nursing GPA and what did you score on the TEAS? My nursing GPA is a 3.29 and I scored an exemplary on my TEAS. I dont understand what Im doing wrong or where I need to improve! Does anyone have any suggestions? I know of people who are accepted without finishing A&P II or micro, but yet I cant get accepted (puzzling)! Again, CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who was accepted. I wish you all the best!

I had a 4.0 overall GPA and a 97 on the TEAS. Sorry you didn't get in.

Wow, that is good!!! Maybe I should look into taking a class or two over to increase my GPA!

Specializes in Nurse Generalist.

Cmcardle- Don't give up! Best to ask the admissions office what you need to do. Overall 3.81, 92 on TEAS here. You should have no problem getting in next time

Cmcardle - Truly, never give up - stay focused and determined. I had 4.0 with 82 (advanced on TEAS). Still completing A&PII, but all my other classes are complete for program requirements. I would recommend eliminating any C's that you may have based on past message board comments. Wishing you success next round :)

Thank you everyone for your insight. I think Im going to retake two classes this winter and reapply for fall 2012. I'll probably re-take the TEAS as well! Good luck everyone, I wish you all the best in your nursing careers.

Overall GPA 3.65. Never calculated my nursing GPA, but A in A&P 1 and currently enrolled in A&P2. Got a lousy 72 on my TEAS. Hearing all these GPAs and TEAS scores I am surprised i was accepted!

cmcardle, what was your actual score on the TEAS because i believe you need at least a 70

To be honest, I dont know what the actual score was. The first time I took it, I got an actual grade but when I took the latest version I got an exemplary. I was told that the grading scale from lowest to highest is proficient, exemplary and something else, but I was never told what they ammount to. How did you find your total percentage?

Never mind, I just went to ATI's website and pulled my results up! It was right there in front of me the whole time. I got an 82% for my overall grade. I'll be taking it over in January, and this time I am going to study : )

cmcardle...

Please don't let the rejection scare you off or discourage you in following through with Nursing. It took me over a decade to get serious with the idea of pursing Nursing and to really apply. My overall GPA is 3.0 and my Teas score ranked as proficient. But I believe my edge was in my Sciences. My grades in the required science courses were all A's. I also scored 95% in the science section of the Teas.

Your scores and grades are outstanding... Apply everywhere & if you have to take those science courses again for that "A"... DO IT! Best of luck!!

Got accepted Monday after being on the waitlist. I'm very excited; I really wasn't expecting to get in this time around.
