CCBC Spring 2011

Published

Hello everyone,

I wanted to say hello to everyone applying to Spring 2011. When do you plan on handing in your application? I am so excited to be near the end of my perquisites. GOOD LUCK and I hope to see you all in the spring!!!:coollook:

I was just wondering....has anyone on here applied before and did not get accepted??

That stinks!

It does stinks!!! I thought we shoud only wait till around 15th. Still 3 more weeks.. Better be good news!

erika, what other schools did you apply to? did you get accepted anywhere else? i just found out that harford community college has a new accelerated program that takes 15 months to complete.

Lucky: I applied to U of M, Notre Dame, CCBC, JHU and DelTech (in DE). I have all of my bachelor's prereqs done except Nutrition and A&PII, which I am in now, but I would like to go the Community College route for $ reasons, but I will do a BSN if that's my only option. Most ppl think this is a little backwards but my financial/time situation is more conducive to a CC program; I know I would have to make alot more sacrifices for a bachelor's program, which I could finish in 12 months or less after I get my RN. Anyway, I have heard about the accelerated program there, but the drive and NCLEX pass rate scared me away. I would rather spend a little more time @ a school w/ a 96%+ pass rate. Most accelerated Associate programs have a bad rep for quickly producing graduates who can't get their license, so I erred on the side of caution :). Just my opinion but I'm sure it works out great for a lot of ppl. This wait is KILLING me!!

Well, I wish you the best of luck! I don't know what the hold up is??? $$$ is a very good reason for not going the BSN route first. I am also doing RN first for the same reason. Most hospitals will pay for their employees to get their BSN so why not go for RN first.

Also from what i know from towson, the nursing students are put under pressure that is completely unnecessary! they are given so many different things to learn and focus on! this keeps them from learning and completely understanding the basics which causes them to have a much lower passing score for the RN test! .... keeping fingers tightly crossed for ccbc!!

72 students get accepted to Essex each semester. I just called the school and they said only 168 students applied to the Essex campus. I hope this is good news!!!

i wonder how many people out of the 168 didn't meet the requirements?!? our odds could be even better!

Exactly my thought!

168 seems like a really low number to be a total for how many applied to essex.. i heard in the past it's been closer to 300. Although I hope it's only 168, that just seems low to me.

I can't believe we have to wait another 2 weeks. This is just killing me!

I called twice to make sure I wasn't mistaken. I too thought it was a low number. After she told me, I think I stuttered a little (lol) and said, " isn't that lower than the previous years?" She said, "yes."

Wow, that's really surprising...and encouraging. From the statistics I have seen from the past, it seems like there are usually a lot of unqualified applicants (I guess people just apply to throw away $20???). That's almost 50% acceptance :)
