CCBC Nursing Fall 2015

Published

Hi all!! Just wondering if anyone else applied to the upcoming fall semester to CCBC? I want to get a feel of all the competition that I am up against.... LOL!

Looks like we'll be having classes (at Catonsville):

August 24-December 16

Monday: 8-11; 11:10-12:10

Tuesday: off (ATB program usually holds class)

Wednesday: 8-11

Thursday and Friday: clinicals/lab

If you are doing the program at Catonsville you will not have Tuesdays off. NURS 155 (Physical Assessment) will be held on Tuesdays. However, if you are doing the ATB program at Towson, Stevenson, or Notre Dame you will be taking Physical Assessment at the university.

I am having trouble understanding how the ATB program with towson works. So if I decide to do that I will have nurn 155 on Tuesdays at essex then go to towson for physical assessment that same day?

I am not completely sure how it works at Essex, but if it is the same as Catonsville's ATB program with Towson you will not take NURS 155 at CCBC, you will take it at Towson on Tuesday's.

I see that I have a $200 bill on my online account at CCBC but I have not received any word from the school :).

Has anyone not received a seat fee yet? I have not gotten one yet and starting to freak out a little bit. i have 8 years experience as a phlebotomy and nursing tech, (which they asked on the cas appliciation) a recomendation from a CCBC Nursing instructor, a high TEAS score, and a decent GPA. Anyone?

@Autumgoldblum, the seat fee was applied to my account on Friday. What program did you apply to? I'm not sure if they apply the fees all at once or by program. I wish you the best and hopefully you'll see it on your account summary today.

Does anyone know if the nursing program requires an immunization record?

I applied to Essex Day, i hoping they dont all apply at once. I will know either today or in the next few, i havent got my hopes up though. Thanks for the support and congrats on your acceptance.

well i received a letter of declination today stating my GPA was not high enough, which does not make much sense because i have an email from SHP saying i met all requirements and one from CAS/CCBC saying everything was met. Calling the school now, i suppose the best i can hope for now is waitlisted. Does anyone know the formula for calculating your own GPA or where you can find it? I dont trust this new system and it may have just costed me admission.

I'm sorry to hear about that, I know how it feels I was declined last semester. If you believe they messed up then I would call and try to get some answers. Again I'm very sorry but if not this semester you will get in the next round! Here's what I do to calculate gpa :

Your grades are awarded on a point system A=4 B=3 C=2 take the number of credits and multiply it by the grade for example if you got an A in a 4 credit class you would have 16 points, if you got a B in a 3 credit class it would be 9 points. Add all of them up then divide that number by the total number of credits. Hope this helps!

I am also very sorry to hear that. Because your declination letter stated that you gpa was not high enough it may be refering to one of the program requirement gpas. CCBC recommends an overall 2.00 gpa, a 2.50 calculated in the CMNS 101 - Fundamentals of Communication ,ENGL 101 - College Composition I, MATH 111 - Ideas in Mathematics group gen ed requirements and a 2.50 in SOCL 101 - Introduction to Sociology, PSYC 101 - Introduction to Psychology, PSYC 103 - Principles of Human Growth and Development , BIOL 110 - Biology I: Molecular and Cells, BIOL 220 - Human Anatomy and Physiology I, BIOL 221 - Human Anatomy and Physiology II, BIOL 230 - Microbiology group program courses . I use http://gpacalculator.net/college-gpa-calculator/. Best wishes to your success. Also, stay positive. Hopefully you find an error they made, but if you dont keep pushing.
