Hello Everyone,
I am applying to the CCBC Essex nights and weekends program for the fall of 2012. I am hearing all the stories about those either getting in or rejected for the Spring day program. Wanted to maybe start a thread for those whole applying with me and maybe relate to my anxiety! LOL
From experience last year, a small envelope is definitely not good. It's just a single piece of paper - and it's a very generic letter that doesn't tell you why you were rejected. It just says that the applicant pool was so competitive and while you (in general) met the minimum requirements, they had to accept the students who were most qualified.
Boo. :-( Maybe we'll find out something this week.
I just want to know already....this week is going to truly be the longest. I am so scared that I wont get in. I applied with a 4.0 average and scored a 70.5% Proficient on the Teas and scored above a 69% on reading...I got an 89.5%. Essex states that they recommend that you score at least a proficient on the TEAS and score atleast a 69% on reading....but Im still afraid that my TEAS score wasnt high enough based on other posts that I have read. I would really hate to think that all of my hard work just boiled down to a standardized test score....
Maybe Im worring for nothing. Sorry...just had to vent a little....:-)
a 4.0?? i wouldn't beat myself up with a 4.0 lol! i know this is torture. if it makes you feel any better this is what i was told - i copied and pasted from my email "the mean gpa for students accepted for the ccbc spring 2012 program was a 3.37. ( this gpa was calculated using only the 10 prerequisite courses for nursing. the gpa range was a 2.82 – 4.0.)"
i was also told that most of the scores are proficient.....but i can't find that email off hand.
if you can't get in with a 4.0 then don't feel bad because then we are all in trouble! lol!

At least everyone is hearing the same!
I would think if they change Simon (I mean really, what's up with that!) that we'd see something on there before we'd get a letter... at least that's always how it's been in past admissions cycles? :thankya: Either way, it's almost over!
