Hi all!
I just submitted my application to CCBCs Essex Day program for Fall '19. I immediately felt like I was going to puke! (hopefully this is a good indication?!) Anyway, I would love to connect with other applicants, so we can worry together.
Hoping to hear back from some of you!

I'm in my second semester of the evening/weekend program at CCBC Essex, and I absolutely remember how it felt to be in all of your shoes! I was super nervous after putting my application, and then after accepting my seat I was super nervous about getting started.
If you get in, THE PROGRAM ORIENTATION IS SCARY. I am not exaggerating in the least bit, there. We actually had two people drop before classes even started because of everything thrown at you during the orientation. In the program orientation, they tell you about Learning Harbor and CastleBranch and all of your vaccine requirements. Then they tell you about the books you'll use and your nurse kit and uniforms. The information itself is very straightforward and simple but it was at that moment I knew I was really going to have to work my butt off to get through this. My advice to you all, after your acceptance and orientation, is to set a timeline for when you're going to order things (especially if you're like me and are responsible for your schooling costs for the most part), and make sure you know the basics of your stethoscope and BP cuff (I had a ton of fun playing around with mine before we got down to the nitty gritty).
Good luck to all of you- take this time to relax. Once nursing school starts, there is essentially no time for chill (and when you do chill, you feel guilty).
Once you've received your confirmation email, when you go into your SIMON, it will say "under review" for what seems like foreverrrrr! Then...there will be the devastatingly long time you have to wait for your email after your SIMON has been changed to "decision made" (it actually isn't a long time, but it will feel as such, for sure). If I recall correctly, my SIMON switched to "decision made," and I had my email by the end of the next business day. If anyone applied for the evening/weekend program- that takes a bit longer to hear back (I was in a thread that had people receiving emails and left me feeling very shaky because I still hadn't gotten one). I know it's easier said than done- but everyone PLEASE try to relax.
To check your application status, go to Simon, then click the Student Services Tab.
Click on the Admissions link. Towards the bottom of the page, you will see the area that says "Applications in Progress" or "Processed Aplications" depending on whether it's been processed yet or not.
There should be a clickable link that is the name of the term you applied for (Fall 2019).
If you click on that, your application summery will come up. Your "application status" will be there. Once it goes to "application under review", you know they're looking over the applications. It won't change until weeks later when they send out all the decisions at around the same day or so.

Yeah, I have classes left too. I hope my GPS will be good enough. 6-8 weeks is a really long time ?
