Anyone applying to ccbc for next fall?
UPDATE: Called SHP today out of sheer curiosity. Not too surprising, but they did confirm emails will not be sent out until next week. I was hoping we would hear something this week as Fall 2016 class got emails 3.16. Oh well. Until next week... :)
Thanks for calling, I've tried emailing them and they don't give any info like they have in past years. I guess they are getting more strict with info. Maybe they know we share it amongst ourselves heh!
No one else on here applied for the hybrid program? Anyone know someone who has?
I'm not applying until spring or next fall (I didn't have A&P 1 or 2 done yet), but I was wondering what everyone's application stats look like? I'd appreciate it, it would give me an idea of when to apply (spring vs. next fall) and whether I should increase GPA first, and whether to retake teas.
Like, what is your
-Overall GPA?
-Science GPA (bio 220,221,230)?
-TEAS score (overall and reading)?
-Do you have all of your classes done, or are you still taking some this semester?
-What campus & program you applied to?
As for me, I have overall GPA 2.76, Science GPA 4.0 (only bio 230 though), TEAS overall 78 with reading of 82, I tried for Catonsville day but did not qualify yet, and I still need Bio 220 (in it now) and Bio 221(was going to take it this summer).
I know that your GPA needs to be 3.0 or better, so if you can try to get that thang up before you apply, that would benefit you. My overall GPA is a 3.63 and my science GPA is 3.52. My TEAS score was an 89.7% with a 89.4 in reading. I applied to the Catonsville day ATB program and have everything done with the exception of Micro, Ethics and Nutrition, all of which I'm taking now (the ethics and micro might be a problem) but I've taken 110, 220, 221, and chem. Don't know yet if I made it, but I'll let you guys know (hopefully) next week.
I am personally less than thrilled with my stats and think I could have done better in some areas, but my overall GPA is 3.6 and my science 3.75. I got an 86 on my TEAS overall with a 91.5% in Reading. I was finishing A&P 2 and Nutrition when I sent my application, and right now I'm taking my Women's Studies course and Music to meet my Humanities credits for my BSN. I applied to the Essex evening/weekend program with FSU as my ATB option.
-Overall GPA? 3.97
-Science GPA (bio 220,221,230)? 3.78
-TEAS score (overall and reading)? Proficient overall, 83% for reading
-Do you have all of your classes done, or are you still taking some this semester? All classes completed ( Gwen Jones told me this is highly recommended as people with completed courses are looked at first, and ones in progress are looked at second. Thus, someone with lower GPA can get in over you before they even look at your application)
-What campus & program you applied to? Essex Evening/Weekend
My advice is finish all your courses and get GPA above 3.0. Based on info posted on this site and through word of mouth, its very difficult to get in below 3.0. In fact, 3.0-3.3 is borderline wait list.
I was not going to apply this semester because I'm still in A&P2, but I figured it can't hurt to try. My GPA is a little low as well from taking a lot of chemistry courses in the past, which is not my strongest subject (I graduated from CCBC's Medical Laboratory Technology program a few years ago... it was chemistry heavy to say the least )
-Overall GPA? 3.53
-Science GPA (bio 220,221,230)? 3.66
-TEAS score (overall and reading)? 90.7 overall, reading 95.7
-Do you have all of your classes done, or are you still taking some this semester? I'm done everything except A&P2, which I am in currently (risky, I know!)
-What campus & program you applied to? Catonsville Hybrid, Frostburg ATB and Stevenson ATB
koalawolla, I think you still have time to improve your GPA before you apply, if you can get A's in your A&P courses, that will help your chances. Good luck to you!
