Hi everyone,

I am one semester away from applying to the nursing program, I have to take Micro & PSYC 103 in the Spring 2008. I am currently taking A&P2, and I am hanging in there!! Lots of studying, I have Dr. Gorski as my professor and she is tough. She is a great teacher but she don't play around, she will work your finger to the bone.(Smile, I'm serious).

So good luck to everyone who is on the same journey as I am, looking forward to hearing from you all!! :lol2:

Awww I remember Dr. Gorski. I had her for A+P 1. She WAS tough but wow she was a great teacher. Take Dr. kaiser for Micro! He's awesome! I can't help you with Psych 103...my professor was a loonbird haha. I dont think he's teaching anymore though.

Hi Boonermom,

How are you! I got accepted at CCBC Nursing Program for Spring 2008, :balloons:Based on your experience which instructor do you recommend I take for Fundamentals of Nursing.(smile). I am not sure if I should take Brennan or Mcdade(sorry I couldn't remember her name)

Sannmidd,

Have a great day!!

You will actually have both. I know it looks in the catalog like you will have one or the other but they actually both teach the course. They are both wonderful and will give you an excellent foundation.

It goes that way for all of the courses actually. You will have 3 instructors for M/S 1, 2 for Psych, 2 for OB, 1 for PEDS, 1 for Trends, 1 for Community, 3 for M/S 2 and 4 for M/S 3 ....well at least that is how it was with my class.

I take my final nursing exam tomorrow! CONGRATS ON GETTING IN! If you EVER have any questions about the program please just ask!

Thanks for replying so promptly, I am so excited I can't believe I got into the nursing program!! Just out of curiosity, Would you say that in the class of nursing students that you started with, was there a hugh drop out rate or not?

I wish you continued success in your future endeavours, I know you are so happy you are finally graduating!! Thank you & good luck!!

P.S.-You will be hearing alot from me, because I will be plucking your brain for information about the nursing program

Also on last important thing, Any tips for the dosage exam, any heads up would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

Our class started with 63 and 29 of us from the original group made it. We did pick up some people who had fallen behind from classes above us.

As for dosage TAKE YOUR TIME. You have PLENTY of time. Do each problem on scrap paper a few times each before you transfer your answers to the test paper. They will teach you how to do each problem. Take good notes and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. I dint pass the Fundamentals dosage until the 2nd time...I rounded wrong..so just be diligent and you'll be fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello My name is Larhonda and I have been accepted to nursing at Catonsville for the spring 08' semester. I think Dundalk has the easiest biology classes there, besides Professor Thorndill (biol 110) at essex. I took Dr. Madike for Micro and is so nice. He will do everything he can to help u pass. He does have a strong accent, but if you concentrate you can understand him.

Lol, just FYI Dundalk has the easiest everything.

My class started with 56 and graduated 34, about seven or eight of those being retreads from the class before us.

We lost about half the group in fundementals. We then pickup up about as many from the previous class in MS I. We lost half the group again after MS I. After that we lost about one person a class (for either academic or personal reasons) until graduation.

Basically it's like this: On the first day of class look to your left, and look to your right. Odds are good that you won't be graduating with those people.

Catonsville is a great program, and you'll learn a lot, but it isn't easy - nor should it be.

Best of luck,

PS: Larhonda, there's no benefit to an easy prereq class. The best science classes out there are the ones that challenge the student and force him to learn. I'd be wary of any professor that lets students slide when the stakes are (eventually) people's lives and health. PJF

You are absolutely right!!!
