CCAC 202?

I go to ccac allegheny campus. I will be starting 204 in the fall. I can tell you that 202 was by far the hardest semester yet. The class before us ten people failed and from what I have heard 8 people failed from my class. My advise is to study, study, study. The tests are a lot harder and they incorporate everything you have learned up to the point of the test. Our teachers used a lot of scenerio questions, so you had to know what you were talking about and how to apply the knowledge. Stay focused and you will be fine. Clinicals were good this semester. Things are getting easier and you get to do more in depth things. You are treater more like a student who is almost done instead of a new person who is clueless.

I'm in the 102 program, and we just finished the OB portion of the lectures. The people who say the program gets harder and harder, and more and more is required of you as you progress through the semesters, are spot-on. I've never done so poorly on tests as I did on the two OB tests. All the smarts in the world are not going to be any substitute for raw studying. The students who do well are the ones who put in the grease work.

They had the 204 final course grades posted, and not even one person got an A as final grade in the class. There were several Bs but mostly all Cs. The tests are all multiple choice, and there are a lot of scenarios ("What would be the priority nursing interventions, etc).

When my class finished 204 we didn't have any As either. Everyone passed accept for one person though. Just keep studying hard and get through it. Good luck.

NRN 102 was extremely tough. That's when we really started to lose people. When I took 102, there were two groups: the first group took OB/Peds and Med Surg last while the second group took Med Surg first and OB/Peds last. I was in the second group and by the time we struggled to make it to OB/Peds, we were told half the class was failing and only one person was close to a B. Fortunately, OB/Peds was less stressful and most students were able to bring their grades up and pass. As for the first group, it was the reverse; their grades dropped when they got to Med Surg. Maybe it was me, but based on the way the Med Surg exams were set up, I believe it was a way to weed out.

I actually liked NRN 202, I didn't think it was bad at all. It was NRN 204 that became survival of the fittest. It was an extremely stressful time along with clinical as more was expected out of us. I was so happy to be over with it and move on to 205.
