CCAC Fall 2012 Applicants

Published

Hello,

Is anyone else in the process of applying for CCAC for fall? Right now I'm waiting for the office to finish pulling up all of my transcripts and paperwork so that I can turn in my application. I'm doing the LPN to RN, so if I get accepted I should be graduating with the class that is currently in the program. Anyone else doing LPN to RN? I'm hoping to be accepted at Allegheny. That's where I've done all of my prereq classes. My second choice is South Campus.

Someone on the other thread got their acceptance letter yesterday too

Did you recieve yours? I wonder if they send a round of letters out and let those accepted decide if they are going to join the program or not and then send the next round of letters based on how many seats are available. Maybe they waitlist some students...I really don't know how it works. You are going to Carlow right? Did you have to take any type of entrance test or did you just apply and transfer your credits?

No I didn't receive anything. Yes i'm going to carlow, there is no entrance test I applied and was accepted within a few days. As long as you have intro to chem, and a&p 1 and 2 done (or completed by fall) you start clinicals

Wow thats so fast compared to every other school! Good luck with everything! I have everything done except for english 102 so if I don't get into ccac this time around I will be applying everywhere for next spring!

Good luck! I'm still not sold on carlow, i'm waiting to here back from ccac and im going to take my psb for mercy on the 10th. I already payed a deposit and registered for classes though. Ugh.

I applied for fall 2012 at South campus, getting so anxious to get a letter!! I'm curious though if you are allowed to change your campus or day/evening choice if something came up that would make you need to change it. (if i were to be accepted of course -fingers crossed-)

I checked my mailbox. No mail. i hope it come soon

I got my acceptance letter Saturday for Boyce day program. Anyone else in that program on here?

My wife got her letter Saturday. She has a 4.0 and is done with all pre-reqs except A&P2 which she is taking in the fall on Allegheny campus (5 min from us).

She applied for Allegheny campus (1st choice) and the North campus (2nd choice). She was assigned to Boyce campus. However the packet sent out didn't have all the necessary paperwork outlining the acceptance procedures and the criteria for getting into each campus apparently. CCAC rep told her the packets were sent out in error last week. She was told one person was responsible for the mix up, but nobody could offer a reason as to WHY she was assigned to Boyce campus when it wasn't either 1st or 2nd choice.

She can't physically attend Boyce campus due to the long drive time (we're west of the city!) AND the upcoming construction to the Sq Hill tunnels resulting in 376 shutting down. That will make it impossible to arrive on time for classes all the way out there.

Why isn't a 4.0 good enough to get into one of your first two choices?

We're both really disappointed that she was given the run around with 9 people. NINE. The last person she was routed to has not responded to her call or email all day long. No help. No explanation. No relief.

She has worked so hard to get a 4.0, and this is the reward?

Nothing today either, guess I was denied... And i'm not suprised by that kind of mix coming from ccac

I got my acceptance letter Saturday for Boyce day program. Anyone else in that program on here?

Yes, me. I don't even know where Boyce IS; I applied for there because I live on the east edge of the city and didn't want to fight traffic to get to Allegheny in the AM.

Sali22, I wouldn't feel defeated yet. It's still early!

The letter that went out last week and was received Saturday by some people was actually one big error. All of them. They were missing essential paperwork and "the person" (their language) was told to hold them for mon-tue this week, but did not.

This is also just the first round of acceptance letters to go out, the reps we spoke to today indicated there will be another wave coming in a month or so.

So, nobody should have received an acceptance letter yet. :-) The ones that did were a mistake, however the campus assignments on the letters should be correct.

Boyce campus is out by Monroeville, not too far from the intersection of 76 and 376. Unfortunately my wife is on the west side of town, 5 minutes from Allegheny - but got Boyce campus.

I spoke to the Nursing coordinator today. All applicants should have something by Thursday 5/3.
