CC ASN programs on the East Coast???

Published

Ok...I'm going to get aggressive with this search!

This is what I am looking for:

A Community College in a small town with a low-cost of living.

Reasonable admission requirements for ASN, RN program and if you can comment on the number of applicants vs those admitted that would be great.

I would need the name of the school to possibly apply.

Thanks!

I'm not sure where you are located, but I'm in western PA. Try http://www.bc3.edu. They do not have any type of preadmission testing for their RN program (other than the regular math and english tests for those courses). Cost of living is pretty good here. We are about an hour from Pittsburgh. If you live in Butler County, the tuition is about $80 a credit. If you live in Lawrence (like I do), it is $90.

This school just opened up a few classes to teach evening nursing students as well. That really increased the amount they admit each year.

Good luck in your search!

Most (all) state boards of nursing give a list of the schools of nursing in their state. They usually also list the schools' web sites and contact information. I suggest you try the sites of the states near you to get a comprehensive list.

There are several such programs in Virginia -- several of which have no waiting lists.
