I work on a urology/surgical unit as an RN for the last 3 years. I am a RN-BC. I plan to register for the urology certification exam in May. I have been told the certification test is hard. Coworkers mentioned how a lot nurses fail the exam. I bought the review book, I am waiting for it to arrive. Is the exam really that hard? Since its paper and pencil, are there fill in the blanks or only multiple choices? Is anyone a CURN? I need some guidance please.

Hello! I realize this post is from a couple years ago however, I am getting ready to take the CURN exam and was wondering if you could answer for me your original post ?s as I too am in search of some guidance ((there's not to much about it on the great world wide web)) I've gone through the suna/suna online library with a fine toothed comb but am still just trying to get all of the guidance I can-with that being said if you wouldn't mind shedding a little light on the subject I'd greatly appreciate it! Hope you were able to obtain your CURN! Thanks in advance~Kt
Hey, it's great your starting your path to CURN, and yes I passed it the first time!! What I did was purchase the certification review, I downloaded the audio part which kinda follows the power point from the reviews, to my iTunes. So I as able to plug it in my car via MP3, instead of listening to the radio I listened to that for a year! Yes i studied for a whole year, and I also purchased the review book Forbes for like 35 dollars. I used to work bedside a a urology unit, but we also took care of other specialties. There were some things I had to teach my self because I didn't work at a urology clinic. I'm happy with my certification and study hard and good luck to you!
