  1. Hey, it's great your starting your path to CURN, and yes I passed it the first time!! What I did was purchase the certification review, I downloaded the audio part which kinda follows the power point from the reviews, to my iTunes. So I as able to plug it in my car via MP3, instead of listening to the radio I listened to that for a year! Yes i studied for a whole year, and I also purchased the review book Forbes for like 35 dollars. I used to work bedside a a urology unit, but we also took care of other specialties. There were some things I had to teach my self because I didn't work at a urology clinic. I'm happy with my certification and study hard and good luck to you!
  2. Yea mine does it. But now you get hired at 72. Those that are working 84 get paid overtime.
  3. I am still not understanding... The physicians are the CLOSERS and and it seems like they are fine with that. But if you want to stay over everyday to make sure the place is safely empty. Just talk to them and see if they will let you do that. Me on the other hand, if they are cool I'm out!! Lol
  4. They maybe suggesting for you to get a lawyer so you can defend yourselve just in case the BON comes looking for you. Just some advice I hope you have learned your lesson and always always always waste your narcotics. I have seen a nurse get fired for not having a documented waste, she threw it in the sharps container and they found the pill in there and still let her go. Good luck.
  5. I have been pulled over few times with and without uniform throughout many many years , and I haven't gotten a ticket yet so far, thanks to God. I try to keep my badge visible or I tell them I am a nurse. I just get a warning. It even worked when my husband was driving and was pulled over. I told the cop I was a nurse and he gave us a warning. But he did mentioned that doesn't matter to him. 😁 A cop told me one time he doesn't give nurses tickets because they may be the one to take care of them in the ER!
  6. I am a night nurse and I am super offended! Look,if we do not do anything at night, respectfully decline and wait for a day shift preceptor to pop open. Good luck to you in your future nursing career.
  7. What if you loose those medication..the ones you can loose your license for??
  8. Hi, I read you are a CURN. I will be taking the exam October 2015. I just wanted to know if you have any tips for the exam, I am really nervous. I have heard of a lot of people failing the exam. I work in the hospital on a urology, post op, floor with 3 years of experience. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  9. Hey out of curiosity, I applied to the same job and wanted to know the same question. Did you end up getting the job, and if so, how is it? Do you like? Please tell me about the position?
  10. Come to houston, as a staff nurse I make over $100,000, but I have 7 years of experience lol
  11. I work on a urology/surgical unit as an RN for the last 3 years. I am a RN-BC. I plan to register for the urology certification exam in May. I have been told the certification test is hard. Coworkers mentioned how a lot nurses fail the exam. I bought the review book, I am waiting for it to arrive. Is the exam really that hard? Since its paper and pencil, are there fill in the blanks or only multiple choices? Is anyone a CURN? I need some guidance please.
